125/3 this session........masood 151 not out......butler's misses yesterday proving expensive. England going to have to bat very well to stay in the game especially having to bat last on a pitch already turning....
Root gone. The Pakistan spinners are extracting amounts of spin that Bess, who hardly turns the ball, can only dream of.
Pope batting beautifully again. He'll be number three before too long. This is a big innings for Buttler, given his poor show behind the stumps. He kept well against West Indies, but the competition for the wicket-keeper/batsman position is intense.
All out 219.....lead of 107. Not a lot you can say except that Pakistan look head and shoulders above England in virtually every department..... Need to bowl them out for less than 150 to stand a chance and even that is probably asking to much to get 250 in the 4th innings.
Good fight from England, but it already looks too much to chase on that wicket and against the excellent Pakistan bowling attack.
Isn't test cricket wonderful...the ebb and flow of the game.... Even now it's a big ask to chase 244 but bowl them out cheaply in the morning and who knows......mind Pakistan are still favourites from this position....
Pakistan probably have enough, but you never know. We'll need our openers to come to the party. Could be a close one.
England obviously need to get the last two wickets very cheaply. Then I think their only chance is to let the likes of Stokes and Buttler go into one day mode and attack.
277 is a few more than England would have liked to have been chasing. A decent opening partnership would be nice.
Nicely poised but Pakistan still favourites.... Might be different if only 2 or 3 down at tea with another 90 - 100 runs on the board....
Just before Sibley was out I was going to say I fancied England to win this. Massive partnership now between Root and Stokes.
Sibley had played the leg-spinner well from around the wicket, but as soon as he went back over he went for a shot he doesn't really have and got out..
