We are told he has the experience and knowledge of league one ( division 3 ) . So winning on the last day and getting a team into 6th place of the division is the standard we are setting.
Similar to my thoughts when I actually took the time to look at his record a couple of weeks ago. Same looking at Byrne's. This myth that he's the right man, an up &coming manager, etc etc, it's all based on wishful thinking, not based on solid evidence.
Tbf you don't need to look at his previous history to see how bloody clueless he is .. i think I'm right albeit from.memory that the only 'success' he has had is at Donny were he scraped them into last position in the play offs. His tactical awareness is bettered by a fkn amoeba !
'Up and coming manager' is a nonsense fallacy. Very few actually climb up the leagues and become the next Eddie Howe. But it's one of those cool things. Everyone turns their nose up at an older manager because they're all dinosaurs and have been deemed a failure in at least one job, even if their record overall is actually very good. See Steve Bruce.
Ehab said we are looking for a quick return to the Championship. Surely it would of been easier to make an attempt to stay there in the first place. Really thinking it was the plan all along looking at the performances.
Judging by our league position at New Year, staying up looked easier than getting back up is likely to be - quick return? Wishful thinking more like.
None Religious Deity Grant McCaan the serenity to accept the things he cannot change, courage to change the things he can, and wisdom to know the difference and **** off if he doesn't...
I truly wouldn't wish it on our team.... but I hope he hasn't won a game in 6 at the start of the season to give us enough time to sort the **** out...
This assumes that despite more experience he's gained in CC, which in most professions would make him a better, you think he'll be exactly the same as before.... No second chances in football. You can't possibly learn and improve - is that really what you all think? I think he'll get what appears to be an early assembled squad (so no excuses) and league six games.... If we're up there... OK.
Am I the only one that thinks it going to be another relegation battle and more likely to go down again than bounce straight back to the Championship
We live in hope that he (and Enob and Darnborough) have learnt from the harsh lessons Enob alluded to. Only time will tell. Stating the obvious, last season suggested he's either incapable of learning and changing or is a very very slow learner. I find it hard to believe that he hasn't learnt and won't improve .... but he was simply dire in all aspects last season, I dont think he should have been granted (see what I did there) another chance. Plus his comments after the final game were close to unforgivable. Enob talked about adding missing experience and nous - for me that needs to start with McCann and Byrne, they have to learn / change massively.
How can he possibly still be here after a whole second half of a season like last? Something is very wrong at the club and should have been changed by now. You don't aim to be in League One just because you've been there before.
I agree! < "he was simply dire in all aspects last season, I don't think he should have been granted (see what I did there) another chance. Plus his comments after the final game were close to unforgivable" >.
