BREAKING: PFA says salary caps in Leagues One and Two are “unlawful and unenforceable” and has served notice of arbitration on the EFL.
Not sure what the going rate is as a semi-professional. Half of summat has to be better than the the square root of bugger all? Unless the PFA don't want this to be the thin end of the wedge, with next up, the golden goose.
I just see it as widening and fixing the gulf between those at the top and those lower down, and there will be no chance of ever going up the ladder.
Something has to change or a lot of league 1 and 2 clubs will be going out of business Saying that it's obviously very difficult to enforce but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try it
This is the first nail in the EFL's coffin, it will widen the gap between the Championship and League One, the same way the gap grew between the Premier League and the Championship. Next step will be a Premier League 2 and the gradual slide of the remaining leagues into non-professional.
We need to get out of this League at the first attempt though the reality will be very much different.
Really? Are any players in League 1 paid £40k per week plus bonuses for promotion etc? The world is totally bonkers if anyone gets that to play in League one. Am I so far out of touch with reality?
The likes of waggy had to work for a living after hanging his boots up. It would appear that a return of ex footballers as pub managers and reps is not that far away. The days of millionaire footballers outside of the premier league is over. Reality bites hard.
