Looking at the clip, he looks like he is played out wide more than an out and out striker. His finishing isn’t great, pace, silky skills but there were more misses than goals.
Is it just me or is 20 million a lot for a German 2nd division striker? I’m not convinced that’s the right move. Rumours online about batshuayi, I’d take him but surely wages will be too much.
If Bielsa wants him I’m happy, I do however hope it’s not another Augustin or Nketiah. I’m expecting us to blow half our supposed budget on a striker, this guy looks awesome out wide but we surely have Poveda, Harrison, Costa and Alioski to fill those spaces? If we want this guy as an attacking option and we’re still lining up an out and out striker great. Watkins I feel is a no go, Brentford seem sure there is no release fee and they want offers over £25m
£20m sounds too much as does £25m for the equivalent English league although if they didn’t sell him he is technically no longer a 2nd division striker
Agree, I just think at some point somebody is going to notice we actually need a Pablo MkII as he wasn't really available for the whole season or whole matches. A play maker is to me the most important acquisition otherwise stikers get no opportunities.
Very true however isn’t the Championship considered a better standard than the German 2nd division? And this guy scored the same amount as Bamford did so not sure he’d be any better than what we have, for the price tag I’d look elsewhere. Playmaker/Pablo role should be no. priority along with CB and then ST. Even if we sign just the 3 players I think we’ve got enough elsewhere to keep us covered.
Thanks Rik but give me Bats everttime to one footed for me fast yes but heading not good and seems to be a winger not a striker
The more I look at him the more I don’t see an out and out striker. I remember when we signed Yeboah, I wondered who the hell it was, looked him up and he’d been scoring goals for fun. I know some might argue this guy is 22 but it seems previous coaches see him as a wide player.
Thierry Henry was a winger for Monaco and Juventus. Wenger turned him into a striker and the rest, as they say, is history
Interesting story about Henry. In 2008 I was lucky to watch the Champions League quarter final at the Camp Nou, Barca v Schalke. I was in the member's section and they hated Henry he was playing on the right wing and they were killing him. I remembered his time at the Arse so was surprised at their reaction.
The Irish F A like him, didn't they build half a stadium with the compensation. Thought you lot liked hands of god anyway.
