    I did at first
Put on a fair bit of weight too, but stopped completely during the week now (well nearly completely...well stopped having beer anyway)
Lost all the weight and more and feeling pretty good physically at least. I’m lightest I’ve been for years now.
Sleeping better too, although that might be a slower start in a morning as I commute all the way to the front room!

For the past twenty odd years I've told people I'm tea total but that is not strictly true. The only time I drink alcohol is on holiday abroad. In the UK the only alcohol to pass my lips is in the sherry trifle. I enjoy driving, used to be the "designated driver" at family do's. Was never a big drinker in my younger days and always stopped at the "merry stage" The last time I had an alcoholic drink was June 2019 and always 48 hours before the flight home. Prefer a mug of tea, full fat milk, no sugar and leave the tea bag in.

If something bad happens you drink in an attempt to forget; if something good happens you drink in a order to celebrate; and if nothing happens you drink to make something happen.

Cup of tea at breakfast, one at dinner time, then one perhaps around nine. Fresh orange in the gym.

I like beer but tea would be the one at the top of my list that I couldn't do without

    "I drink therefore I am" :

Immanuel Kant was a real pissant
    Who was very rarely stable
Heidegger, Heidegger was a boozy beggar
Who could think you under the table

    David Hume could out-consume
    Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel
And Wittgenstein was a beery swine
Who was just as sloshed as Schlegel

There's nothing Nietzche couldn't teach ya
'Bout the raising of the wrist
    Socrates, himself, was permanently pissed

John Stuart Mill, of his own free will
On half a pint of shandy was particularly ill
Plato, they say, could stick it away
Half a crate of whiskey every day

Aristotle, Aristotle was a bugger for the bottle
Hobbes was fond of his dram
And René Descartes was a drunken fart
    "I drink, therefore I am"

Yes, Socrates, himself, is particularly missed
    A lovely little thinker
But a bugger when he's pissed

Nearly 5 months sober, a combination of mental breakdowns and a lockdown does have some perks.

    <cheers>

Had me heart attack June 2018 and haven't had a ciggie or alcohol since. Ended up being retired a year early because of it..
Don't know if i'm better with not doing either because i've contracted Asthma and Angina since <laugh>
