nor me well apart from seeing him play in the PL with Hull on a serious note i do think we look for players that fit our team ethos more so than pure talent / name .
Same for Mane, same for Salah. Both overpriced at the time I thought and didn't think they were anything special.
I think a lot of people thought the same, including myself. The key thing is that when we signed these guys, they addressed a weakness. Which is key. Jamal Lewis would provide really good cover for Robbo but most importantly, he plays the same style. Fast, direct, supports the attack. It doesn't mean we have to change our whole style when Robbo is out.
Liverpool will reportedly have to double their £10million valuation of Jamal Lewis if they're to sign the Norwich full-back. The Reds are looking to bolster their strength in depth as they look to retain the Premier League title next season, with Manchester City expected to come back fighting.
That's what I read on Anfield Watch this morning £20m. It's because it's us. If it was Brighton after him, it would likely be £10m. Klopp won't pay more than he thinks he's worth.
At least with Mane we had witnessed his hatrick in 4 minutes or whatever it was (beating Fowlers record iirc) Hadn't seen anything from Mo at Chelsea that impressed but I suppose if we had seen him at Roma it may have been a different story.
i was quite keen on the Mo signing mainly due to having seen him on a decent number of occasions for Roma but obviously didn't expect quite the impact he had . Think me & @Jimmy Squarefoot were 2 of a very small number on this board who were quite happy with the signing .
Looking at his record he was a 1 in 2 striker at Roma. I watch various European games but relatively few Serie A.
I like Jamal lewis but you'd have to wonder about someone as good as him joining us - most likely to sit on the bench in the big games - when there are a fair few PL sides whose starting XI he would surely get into. I certainly wouldn't want us to break the bank for him.
So Torres who has just signed for city left Valencia because they wouldn't make him captain and 'one of the highest paid' players. He's gone to the right club then with that mercenary attitude.
