Since I notice our not606 hosts have already updated us back, it feels like a new thread is in order!

Great performance tonight, Parker got his tactics and selections bang on. Onomah was great, Kamara & Kebano were very good, Hector & Rodak were very solid. Joe Bryan executed that free kick to perfection and no-one can really argue we were deserved winners.

Hopefully we've learned our lessons from two years ago and keep the players that got us up at the heart of our squad next year (e.g. Onomah, Hector, Rodak should all be starters next year.)

West London is ours and that last spot in the Premier League is ours too. COYW!!!

We've definitely got the solid spine of a team with those players you've mentioned and add in Mitro and hopefully Reed. And we already have a lot of solid players around the spine so we might not have to go out and buy on-mass.

Just hoping Tony Khan doesn't want to go out and experiment again to showcase his his Analysis Firm again and cock things up.

Lots of rumours that we have an £8m option on Harrison Reed. We need to get that done ASAP.

For all of my frustrations with the recent performances of Knockaert/Cavaleiro/Reid, the club have clearly learned the lesson of our last promotion with regards to loan players. The only players who look like they may not be back are Arter and Kongolo, and I think we could sign them if we want to.

I see Rodak, Hector, Reed, Onomah, Cairney & Mitro as first team starters, supplemented by two of Knockaert, Cavaleiro, Kamara & Reid. We should look to upgrade or supplement RB/LB although Bryan and Odoi/Christie could do a job in the right system. The only player who definitely needs to drop to the bench is Ream (much as I love him), but maybe Kongolo is the right signing for that position. We also need a backup keeper, if Betts leaves.

Lots of rumours of a move for Sess on loan, which would be a move that wouldn't need much bedding in. Do Seri/Anguissa come back to back up Cairney/Onomah respectively? Could we find the funds for someone like Callum Wilson? An interesting month ahead!

    Two weeks to go !

Last premier league encounter we approached the season with great confidence. This time round I think our feet are firmly on the ground. It's going to be tough I think and with our first fixtures (bar the Arsenal game) we need to capitalise with a few points. Confidence is everything and although we've played the possession football and from the back Parker has shown he doesn't mind changing on occasions and we started to see a few long ball moves. Playing only from the back from Joka was our downfall I believe last time. Often we were the better team but lost and confidence went. We just need to play the best tactics to win.

We have the togetherness and pretty much the team that took us up this time. We're everyone's top relegation candidate.

I think it must be our aim first season just to stay up - What do think, will we do it ?

Good post FCOYW, and yes I think we have enough grit this time around but it won't be easy. We are still short of couple of players and getting them in and settled quickly is key. We need to be at our best from the start, confidence is vital as you say.
Scotty does look at each game from a tactical viewpoint, he won't get it right all the time but will do often enough I believe to get us to stay in the EPL.
We need to get more streetwise, Arsenal will be doing the play acting from the onset and we need to be able to show this to the officials, not allow them to get a multitude of cheap free kicks and yellow cards.
We do have a stronger team this time around, physically and mentally. But as we know the EPL improves its standards each season, our first game will be telling, not the be all and end all, but a good indicator for sure.
The fact we will not have fans in the stadiums to start with and reduced numbers going forward may also help, nobody will have the 12th man as it were.
