It's insane - if someone I was working with has the virus I'd want to know who it was. ASDA is a pretty big place - I'd want to know if I've been sitting next to them at any point during my shift. **** confidentiality - peoples lives can be at risk.
Phil, this is definitely not the flu. My wife works in the NHS, her friends work in the NHS, I've recently spent 3 weeks in hospital chatting to nurses and doctors about Covid. They all tell me the same thing. One of our friends work in the Intensive Care unit - she's with Covid patients. She has been a nurse over 20 years and told me she has never seen anything like this before and that many doctors are mystified by it. This **** is real.
My wife works in intensive care as well, and it’s baffling to all the doctors etc, to quote her the Intensive Care at Southampton General was like a war zone without the blood during its peak.
How then, can this message be effectively shown to the masses so it's understood how serious this is ? Is it just that people have already made their minds up that anything that comes via the media or government must be bullshit ? I swear if Boris Johnson read the football results on a Saturday afternoon, people would be all over Twitter saying, "yeah but those results are just what the Media want us to think happened" and then when you show them the video of the goals "yeah but video can be manipulated".
I hate to say this but it can't. Main media have their own agenda and social media is a cesspool of nonsense. The only good thing about social media is that main media differing views are at least aired. It comes down to intelligence and using "common sense" but that's in short supply and is being bred out of the populace.
When I hear the government saying "they trust in the general publics common sense' it makes me realise they are living on a different planet to the rest of us.

If this is what they believe to be common sense in action then they really need to raise the bar, but then comments like this don't help " But Adrienne Munday, a small business owner there, said Covid-19 concerns had been "over dramatised" in the media and most people were delighted to welcome back the "summer buzz". https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cornwall-53571128
The biggest threat is years of governments lying , stealing and cheating along with the scum media . Which has lead to huge mistrust in anything they say anymore !
I was talking to my mother recently regarding the 1968 flu out break and she doesn't remember too clearly , admittedly social media was no where near the blanket coverage we get these days but was it as serious or just treated as a minor interference to daily life.
