Morning. Its Monday 3rd August, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Whites eyeing move for Iranian star

Media reports over the weekend are linking Leeds to Iranian International left-back Milad Mohammadi.

The 26yo has been in exceptional from for Belgium outfit KAA Gent on a free transfer last Summer earning him a place in the Juniper League’s team of the season.

Mohammadi helped Gent to finish the 2019-20 Pro League campaign as runners-up to Club Brugge, although the season was cut short due to the Covid-19 pandemic. He is likely to cost in the region of 6.3m!

Where does this put Stuart Dallas and Barry Douglas - Are they surplus to requirements?

Will 25m price tag put Leeds off Norwich Ace

According to The Mail, Leeds have approached Norwich to register their interest in attacking midfielder Emiliano Buendia.

Buendia joined the Canaries from La Liga side Getafe, whilst impressing at Leeds sister club Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa less than two years ago. His performances where he earned player-of-the-season, 13 assists and six goals, earning him many accolades in La Liga 2.

Whilst Leeds were trying to offload the likes of Yosuke Ideguchi to Ivan Bravo's team, nobody informed the Whites that Norwich were set to make an absolute killing by bringing the then 21yo to Carrow Road for 1.5m.

The East Anglian side have slapped a 25m price tag on the Argentine!

    In other News

We reported last week that Leeds were in talks with Belgian rivals Gent about the availability of Canadian International Jonathan David. Although Leeds are prepared to outbid French rivals Lille, the 20yo has his heart set on a move to the Stade Pierre-Mauroy.

Staying with Belgium, Leeds and Arsenal are rumoured to have made enquiries about the availability of Emmanuel Dennis. The 22yo Nigerian International forward has netted 19 times in 71 appearances for Club Brugge.

Closer to home, Brentford’s in-form forward Ollie Watkins is reported to be on Bielsa’s transfer wanted list. The 24yo has been in fine form for Brentford, netting 25 Championship goals for the club in 46 appearances this term. They could also be set to battle Chelsea for the signature of Watkins’ teammate Said Benrahma.

Much will depend on whether the Bees can overcome Fulham in the play off final tomorrow night!

NFL giants hoping to increase their investment in Leeds Utd

NFL giants, San Francisco 49ers are hoping to increase their stake in Leeds following their promotion.

According to the New York Times, the 49ers want to buy a larger share of the club after purchasing a 10% stake back in 2018.

Andrea Radrizzani has welcomed the idea of an influx of investment from last season’s Super Bowl finalists

However, the Italian admitted he would like to remain in charge at Elland Road for another decade at least.

Obviously, Radrizzani is acutely aware of the investment opportunities which will come with newfound Premier League status.

    Morning all...

Doesn’t seem like we’re going to be sold to the QSI group so we’re going to need to spend our budget wisely. With fans not looking likely to return for a good while I feel we have a head start on the rest when it comes to budgeting. When I say rest I’m excluding the likes of Pool, City, Chelsea

I feel it’s a game of poker at the minute, everyone is awaiting a bench mark. Teams need to slash their outgoings, they’ll want as much as they can for their bigger names but everyone is waiting to see who manages what price first

The £40 million for Ake seems to have set the benchmark.

Buendia isnt worth £25m or Norwich would have stayed up because of his creativity and assists. Didnt happen as he was swamped and only created a couple of assists. Pukki scores goals but got no service so for me the price tag is stupid. Yes I would take him because if Bielsa wants him its because he feels he can get a lot more space with the way we play and he can be as good if not better than Pablo.

We need a LB so the Iranian would be an upgrade, but theres a story about an Icelandic LB who plays for Molde’ who is being looked at and cheaper. Also a big Dane CB? Orta has found some CB gems Aapo Halme was the first to be blooded very young, but was upset that he wasnt getting regular first team football so joined Barnsley. Doing well with them and never let us down for someone so young. Struijk and we also have have Cresswell and Casey sat in the wings for later. Quarto or the big Danish International will do me

on the striker front Emmanuel Dennis is a winger/midfielder thats why his goals per game ratio isnt great, but he can play as a striker. Ollie Watkins has a buy out clause of £18m so the £30m story is a laugh I am hoping Fulham get promoted because Watkins could be the answer and I want to see Thomas Frank cry

If the reports circulating are true that Watkins has an £18m buy out clause it’s a no brainer. When you think what we were willing to pay in January for two strikers who’d hardly featured and what we wasted on two loan strikers Watkins is a steal

Gelhart was just about done last week but the Administrator is trying to drum up more competition so Rangers may be entering the fray. It should happen any time and the young Charlie from Linfield is a shoe in but on schoolboy forms as he has to wait until 17 :emoticon-0148-yes:

    Morning all.

Watkins for 18 million would be a great transfer. Lot of clubs in the prem gonna be fighting over him if Brentford miss out tomorrow.

John Stones is available for 20 million. If we do not get White then he is my ideal replacement.
While he had not been at his best recently there is an excellent ball playing cb in there.
Bielsa would be the perfect coach to get him back to his best.
The fact that he has played the last few seasons under Pep also means it shouldn't be too hard to get into the Bielsa way. He's being doing Bielsa lite.

True John Stones was a very good player at Everton, got a mistake or two in him, but sure Bielsa can improve him more, I mean look at Cooper.
