That is what makes MLT, Alan Shearer and perhaps Jack Grealish such good players... shame it didn't apply to Charlie Austin
He’s an interesting one as he’d also be able to play further up the field and I still think we look light on the wings with Boufal not exactly setting things alight and Moussa having a tricky first year with injuries getting in the way. Looks like he’d be available for a similar fee to KWP, so in our budget. I’m sure we’ll still sign KWP though. Spurs don’t really need him and everyone will be keen on a move. It’s just going to be haggling over structure and final amounts.
True generally but some players are better for having a good team to play with Morgan didn’t improve when he left us and I think Man U and Everton had better players
If the £10m fee is true, how is Walker-Peters cheaper than Matty Cash? KWP is only a year older, has Premier League experience and played very well since the restart.
I don’t know, but if we sign Cash, I hope the fans sing “Matty, Matty, Matty, it’s a rich man’s world” edit: to give you a more sensible answer, it may be “value” to the selling club. KWP is not integral at Spuds, whereas Cash probably is at Forest. Value is always variable
I won't believe the rumour until I see the "Saints Splash for Cash" headline. I read somewhere Matty Cash is from Slough so Saints would be an attractive move for him.
It says we want to pay £10m, they want £15m. If we meet in the middle then it’s £12.5m. Forest rejected bids of £10m. I think they’d take the same amount or slightly more. He’s highly rated and a key player to them. They’ve rejected lower bids from bigger clubs in previous windows so they know there’s going to be wide interest. KWP is surplus at Spurs and we’re the only club who wants him! If he goes back then it’s another loan to another team. Price is going to be dictated by value to the selling club and the level of interest. Also on the body of work of each. Cash has over 100 games played. KWP has a handful of cameos for Spurs and only about 10 starts for us. As a bidder, there’s a lot less info to go on. Maybe he’s a Marek Saganowski and this is his purple streak. Who knows?
Yeah whilst KWP has obviously done very well in the games played for us there is a reason why Spurs fans all want him gone and Aurier plays ahead of him. I remember a few years ago they were very excited about him as a prospect, something has obviously changed. Just have to be hopeful that a fresh start has helped him back on track to realising the potential that had the Spurs fans excited in the first place.
Any RB who can keep Raheem Sterling and David Silva quiet isn’t just having a purple streak, there must be a lot of talent there. Also, Matty Cash has never played in the Premier League so there’s no way of knowing whether he can step up. Given the choice I’d take KWP like a shot, but I would trust Ralph’s judgement.
