SW has emphasised that will never happen again, though Wildshut at £4m (given the add-ons were never realised) was not that extreme.
Any idea how much we paid for the Fahrmann loan ? At the time there were reports of a few million , he only played a handful of games .
Best we avoid the loan market altogether, after the disasters that were Farhmann, Duda, Roberts and Amadou. Nil out of four ain't good!
Talking about young talent from "lower tiers/leagues" (Luxembourg, Ligue 2, etc.) DF said it would be unreasonable to expect them to be pushing to oust the first choice player in their position. But, as I suggested, Sørensen, Placheta and Dowell don't fall into that category. Allowed time for adjustment to how we play, Placheta, for example, could well be good enough to oust Hernandez, whose out of possession play is a weakness. Similarly, I see no reason why Sørensen couldn't be good enough to oust McLean (whisper, I'm rather hoping he does).
We got a couple of decent performances out of Amadou in centre back buy yes that list of failures was probably quite expensive in loan fees and wages. If Chelsea have any young superstars that can't get anywhere near the first team it maybe worth a punt but I don't remember any decent loans since Huckerby and Crouch
Don't worry Cromer, after the disasters of those four's experiences as loanees at Norwich, I'd be surprised if anybody else would even contemplate coming.
Wildshut now there’s a name to conjure with. If my memory serves me correctly, he only played a few games and was loaned out? Naismith was totally wasted space and is arguably the biggest mistake NCFC made in the past 5 years. Even a bigger mistake than RvW who may have prospered had he been served better. Naismith still at Hearts? I think they were demoted last season from SPL. Is RvW still playing?

Robbie BB thanks for the information. Good news about RvW after brain surgery. He seems to have prospered well in the Swiss League. Pity he was played as lone striker as he did not suit that role.
Fährmann was kept out of the side by Krul, who had a far better season than many of us thought he would. Not his fault. Amadou played 11 times in half a season and then saw he wasn't going to oust Tettey. It was worth the fee for his part in the 3-2 win over Citeh. Roberts was the most disappointing, never doing enough to dislodge Buendia, Hernandez or Cantwell, who surprised us all with his remarkable season. Duda played 10 times in the few months he was here and had good ratings in WhoScored. Had he been here the whole season it might have been different.
New rumours for "problem positions": Ron-Robert Zieler has been released by Hannover this summer. 31 year old GK who has previously played for the German national team. Norwich apparently made an approach last summer. Interestingly, he also counts as homegrown as he came through at Manchester United. Mike van der Hoorn, CB for Swansea this season, is out of contract this summer and there's a suggestion Norwich are interested.
Rumour has it that Pukki is on the radar of Burnley, WBA and a Turkish side. Are any of these sides likely to offer a sum of money which SW/DF cannot refuse?
Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has left the club by mutual consent after their relegation from the Premier League.
He was being touted as the Wenger replacement and possibly England head coach. Huddersfield were the team to replicate not so long ago and they dramatically nose dived, Wagner long since gone . Webber jumped ship at the right time is he going to get offers ? I'm sticking by Delia, Farke and hoping we will come back from relegation strong next season .
The average tenure as manager of a Premier League club is only around 90 games, i.e. just over 2 full seasons. Howe's 5 seasons in charge put him among the 10 longest serving PL managers. He's managed Bournemouth with outstanding success for the last 8 years. It's a success story from start to finish. Eddie Howe.
