Bloody awful game with a great result. Two excellent goals among 90 mins of low grade, turgid football.
Thought we might see us have a real go, but instead we got the mogodon version. That's OK and maybe a fitting end to a terrible season for the game, but a real achievement for the manager and his team.

Here's my scorecard for the season for the more regular players.

    Consistently Best in Class
Giroud, Pulisic, Mount, Willian, Dave, Kovacic

Good some of the time, and only as wing backs
    Alonso, Reece James,

    Honourable Season
    Gilmour

Must try harder for different reasons.
Zouma, Barkley, Kante, CHO, RLC, Tomori

Need to consider their futures, no improvement as season wore on.
Jorginho, Rudiger, Christensen, Nearly Abraham. ( nearly scored, nearly stayed onside, nearly beat my marker)

    Look for a new job,
    Kepa, Batman, Emerson

First of all what a grear season we have had with the youngsters. Disappointingly though the youngsters have dropped off and it was actually the re emergence of the senior players to get us back on track (willian, giroud, dave)

actually thought christensen got better as the season got on cp and unfortunately he hasnt played in the last few games where zouma blows hot and cold and rudiger has looked like an accident waiting to happen.

Ever since cho has had his achilles injury he has not been the same player (lost a yard of pace)

Likewise rlc but i think he has been misused as he isnt a box to box player but looking forward to seeing him back on it.

Pulisic has been a revelation and still glad to see mount progressing even if i think hes a bit lightweight.

Abraham has had a good season but on the whole his all round play is not a patch on giroud. The attack look more like individuals with moments of magic whereas woth giroud he just links the play so much better and holds the ball up giving us an out ball and making the attack a whole unit. I wonder whether abraham can even get to half of that.

All in all a good season and its great seeing james play. Okay in the air and i still dont think hes crossing is great but is strong as an ox, has bags of energy, has a burst of speed and is a canny carrier of the ball and is so composed. Would be great to get another one like him at lb.

Positions for priority for me are cb, gk and lb but I'm happy with the squad (minus the keeper) if we are hoping to develop the youngsters more and arent expecting any of the major honours

I think all the youngsters did well overall apart from Abraham who has been bloody awful since his first burst of goals. To me he looks like he has loads of skill but little natural football brain. Always half a pace too late , or 3 mtrs too far left, just doesn't anticipate enough and get into the right position. Far less skilful players with that natural instinct end up as better players. Hope that's not the case and we will see him come good next season. CHO and RLC are both still in recovery, both looking better and CHO was sharper and put in a couple of excellent passes to put men onto the attack. Frank will have the time and personnel to bring the kids along the next step for sure.
We couldn't have expected more from the squad as a whole and many congrats to one and all for the end result. A win in the FA would be a bonus, but win or lose, great work to all.

Thought the game versus Wolves was a good balanced games with two teams looking to gain places to euro football. Wolves started better but we had to make sure we kept a clean sheet. We could have scored more but this was not a game for adventure, more necessity. Frank got it spot on!

Can't argue with that. Frank is a pragmatist, and the low key performance achieved exactly what he wanted. Despite it being a dull and frustrating game to watch.
To be in Europes' top comp. and the FA final is seriously overachieving. Frank has shown in his short career that he has what is needed to be a top Manager. Please God, if there is one, that he is allowed to build and solidify a competitive team, unlike too many Chelsea Managers who have gone before him.

Hoping for 75 points plus next season plus improved performances in Europe where tactically we have been poor.

We were lucky to get out of group.

And another good run in domestic cup.
Let’s give these kids winning mentality
