I know there are a few BC fans on here, and wanted to pass on the news that his latest book was released today - in case you didn't know already.

I bought my copy in Sainsburys earlier today for £9.49, and shall soon be heading off to resume Uthred's quest for Bebbanburg.

I may not be around for the next couple of days.

No great loss, I hear you say.

    For England!

This series is based during the 9th century and the reign of Alfred the Great - my hero, by the way!

It is classic Cornwell fiction/fact and follows the fortunes of a young Saxon in his quest for personal glory, the safety of England and many, many women that he falls in love with and loses. Today's release is the fifth of the series and will hopefully live up to the previous four.

I have read everything that BC has written, including the thrillers, the joint efforts and his alias work.

Pick up a copy of The Last Kingdom and see how you get on. But I am confident you not will be disappointed.

Yes, I pre-ordered it from Amazon some months ago, so looking forward to seeing the latest tales of Uthred.

    Susannah Kells, funnily enough.

He co-wrote a few novels with his wife under this name. They were very early efforts and a bit scratchy to be honest.
