you mean like this https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20200729-uae-airline-helped-overturn-manchester-city-uefa-ban/
3 days ago: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53558392 the PL asked for clarity and the takeover was suddenly "taking too long", or "no longer commercially viable", or whatever other excuse they come up with to avoid giving an answer
Doesn't matter, surely? Hasn't Henry Mauriss and his group now got an "open goal"? ****ing disgrace. Done, done and done.
Wonder if any other team in the world has had 3 official takeovers fall through. On the bounce. And the sad thing is we can’t blame Ashley on this one.
For all we know he might ask some other investors to come in with him. I am not writing him off just yet.
No one should be hoying the toys out the pram though. As I've said all along, not likely to happen. We've had 12 years of utter ****e, why would the year of 2020 be any different. I'll still be there, I've stuck out the fat **** this long, I'm not giving in
Neither did Staveley. But she was pulling the deal together. It does feel like a punch in the stomach and the whole thing seems very surreal.
To be fair, neither did John Henry. And on the flipside, QPR's owners are worth an awful lot more than the owner of Chelsea. I hope Tel's right, but I expect this Mauriss will disappear quicker than the Saudis just have.
I think this is what the PL have been playing for with the delay, they couldn't within the current rules turn down the takeover but they didn't want the **** storm that would come with agreeing to it, I think they were hoping the Government would step in and take the decision out of their hands but that didn't happen so they have just found more and more delays in making the decision.
So then... We're honestly not in terrible shape guys. 13th place, developing team, solid base to push on. It could be worse, honestly. Plus, I actually have more faith in Ashley than i did 12 months ago.
Quite the opposite - it feels very real, very usual. No comment, no statement from the PL or from NUFC. PL get away with it - they never "failed it", which I said they wouldn't ages ago. Seems to me what I thought would happen - the big 6 didn't want this to happen, and it hasn't. At least that's the ****ing end of it.
Tbh this is thing.. I mean look at what everyone's doing these days! Hoping billionaires buy their club so they can compete and even when it happens if they're rich enough to ruffle a few feathers even that's denied.
I don't think its"hoying toys" - it's more a giving up of hope! Personally was genuinely excited about potentially going to a game again as I stopped buying merch and attending matches after the last relegation - stuck to it and will not be back until Ashley is gone as giving him money is supporting the apathy. I'm just not putting myself through another season of religiously watching matches online - as I say there a lot of things in the world I'd rather do than watch that ****e - I'll check the scores now and then but as for actually caring or hoping for anything, I cba anymore
This season is relegation. I think it's pretty ****ing nailed on. And I have no interest in yet another year of ambition-less ****ball.
