Comprehensive planning is underway at Sunderland AFC to ensure the club is fully prepared for the start of the 2020-21 season. Whilst we hope to begin the campaign with supporters in attendance at the Stadium of Light, it is expected that social distancing measures and other safety protocols will be in place when fans return. Of course, this will heavily impact upon the stadium’s overall capacity and could result in some supporters being unable to sit in their desired location. The club is continuing to follow SGSA guidance and will work with the relevant governing bodies and supporters’ groups to ensure the matchday experience remains as authentic as possible, whilst also adhering to all of the safety measures set. With season card sales already surpassing the 12,000-mark, which is in line with the reduced capacity estimated, we have today taken the decision to pause all new season card sales until further notice. We appreciate that many fans will be disappointed by this news, but we will provide a further update regarding additional sales once further clarification around supporter attendance has been provided. In the meantime, the club will continue to liaise with the SGSA and the relevant governing bodies, and we hope to boost that estimated figure by 2,000-3000 in the short term. Finally, thank you for your continued patience and understanding throughout these unprecedented and unpredictable times. We will endeavour to provide further detailed updates in the coming weeks, and we hope to see you all back at the Stadium of Light once it is safe to do so. https://www.safc.com/news/club-news/2020/july/2020-21-supporter-update
Aye. It does mean a lot of long term season card holders who didn’t renew will have been elbowed, not the clubs fault. Seems they’ve maybe been advised of 25-30% capacity to start.
Common sense to me, not sure how they could select which season card holders could attend if we sold more than the permitted attendance.
S.A.F.C. haven't done the right thing for me and my boy, Adam, or Vincemac and his brother, Michael I know that they can't please everybody, but I think that Vince is in the same boat as me, where we would both have renewed for the four of us, but we weren't allowed to, and that definately IS the club's fault . . . . they've made it impossible for us to renew
Vince's brother is disabled, as is my boy, Adam (Down's Syndrome), and we can only renew 'in person' via the office (no facility to do so online), so we've been disadvantaged I've had to fight for Adam thoughout his life, so perhaps I should be used to it p.s. you never get used to it
Absolute disgrace of they haven’t held your space like. No reason at all for them to make that difficult.
I should have mentioned that the office has been closed for months 'cos of Covid-19 (with no alternative), which is what's made it impossible for us
It seriously is the club's fault. They (myself included) would've renewed without question had we not been thought of so ****ing terribly by those in charge at present.
Gordon, it's an absolute disgrace that supporters sharing circumstances with you and @Vincemac are prevented from attending. It was impossible for you to purchase your Season Cards and some flexibility must be shown by the club. I don't believe they have even considered the impact their policy has had on disabled supporters and their personal assistants. Have you tried any of the contacts on here? https://www.safc.com/tickets/accessibility I have heard that Freda Oyston is helpful and can be contacted on 0191 3847835
No, I said it’s not the clubs fault there’s gonna be stadium restrictions mate, I’m actually well aware they are at fault for people not initially renewing.
Thank you for that number And to add I don’t even think they thought about disabled supporters and the impossible situation there were put in
And I have emailed them with no reply Just another thing the cup final and play off matches we paid full price Ok that’s fine for us but not for other disabled supporters
