So in this case (good post btw) if there is no piracy issue what’s the problem with the control, PIF and MBS.
The biggest problem seems to be that they want to fail it? Are they now just going to hide behind saying " we aren't happy with the information provided on who's in charge"?
If there is no piracy. No proof of murder connected to PIF or MBS. Then surely PIF is in the clear? The control/ownership is totally irrelevant if the above have no bearing. May I point you all to the ownership of Man City. City Football Group is 77 percent owned by Abu Dhabi United Group, an investment vehicle owned by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed al-Nahyan, the brother of the ruler of the United Arab Emirates. A Chinese consortium led by the media and entertainment conglomerate CMC is a minority investor. What is the ****ing difference. If anything that’s even more murky.
If the piracy is not an issue and nothing can be linked then they should accept that the control is with this man. End of!
The issue, as reported by Luke Edwards, Jason Burt and Liam Kennedy is the PIF claim to be a separate entity to the state but the PL aren't buying that explanation for the following reasons: 1. Bin Salman is the chairman and basically the ruler of KSA (basically the most powerful individual in Saudi). 2. 8 of the 9 individuals named on the PIF board also hold positions within the Saudi government. So the PL are concerned that no matter who PIF elect to the club board that there is a good possibility MBS or the 8 KSA government representatives on the PIF board could essentially hold control of the club. It's a big issue to be fair, I have no idea how legally PIF can provide definitive proof on who yields ultimate control of the fund. I mean if it's not MBS why is he chairman? I still think the deal will pass because it hasn't failed yet, there is no way the UK government aren't lobbying the PL for the bid to be approved and finally because 99.99% of the time money talks. According to Duncan Castles all piracy questions have been satisfied and Jason Burt has been ahead of this story from the offset, I'm just surprised him and Luke Edwards reported their story as a negative as I read it as this is the last obstacle to overcome (albeit a really complicated obstacle that is probably a nightmare to legally prove/disprove). All of this is only my opinion formed on what I've read. I should stress I have no legal background or inside knowledge whatsoever.
The worry I have is that they seem to be trying to fail it. If they wanted to pass it they'd just say they're happy with the information. It seems to be a legal game of chess.
Surely the Saudis are making it more difficult to block now? Someone's losing 17 million plus of its blocked
The appeal will never be heard. The PL cannot use the WTO report any longer. Qatar cannot use it either.
. Except their concerns need to be based on fact and evidence and not simply conjecture otherwise it leaves an appeal wide open. Therefore removing the WHO report (if that’s what the appeal does) is a positive for the takeover to go through and not a negative. There you are @The emerald guard I found you a positive for today.
I think it's impossible to because there been 4 months of contradictory reports and spin on all of them in both directions..
