I'd give Costa a chance, agree on the others. I also can't see how a player like Ayling will not get found out. Hope to be proven wrong by the way on every player I don't think can hack it.
Pablos nutmeg compilation. https://motforum.com/article.php?page=38655 Found these stats interesting for Struijk who only played 3 games. if it doesn't show up, click on the loading tweet then enlarge the picture.
I've always backed Costa. I'd love him to have a run of games on the left. I think he would have more goals in him from that side.
Thing with nutmegs is, you have to be quick thinking, keen eye and quick to react, at 35 he still has all those abilities....
I have concerns about Alioski, Dallas, Cooper and Bill at the back and Pablo & Roberts in midfield, mostly concerning pace, or lack of, and the ruthlessness with which mistakes are punished in the Premier League. Cooper is likely to give away a penalty at every corner with VAR in play. I have concerns about the time Bamford likes to take before getting a shot away, our crossing capabilities from both left and right (Harrison & Costa), how PL refs will react to Klich's niggling, and the speed on the counter we will come up against. Meslier is still an unknown quantity. Have I missed anyone out?
Charlie Allen - Too early to get excited imo. I was one of those who foolishly got excited about McDaid. McCalmont - glad he's getting a contract. I wasn't the only one wondering what was happening with him. Thought he might be leaving us. Maizek - I though he was leaving us too. Don't know where I got that from, but months ago, I'm sure that I read he wasn't getting another contract. Gotts, Edmundson, Bogusz, Cresswell - Glad to see they've been schooled & are now allowed out to play. Delighted for them. Cresswell was essentially an u18 player who covered some u23 games. What puzzles me is what's happening with Casey & Struick? Are they still stuck in the u23s, or in the 1st team squad? Guess we'll need to wait & see.
So he might wait to see if any of these actually come through the door then before signing? He knows talk is cheap.
Then again none of the major football sites/media companies have ever altered their sections to take into accounts clubs promotion/relegation until the season has been completed, including play offs, so don't see what the issue is. Basically until the Premier League have their AGM and confirm that the promoted clubs have been issued with their share certificate, and thus that the new season has begun, then it is very unlikely that any sports media/website will make those changes. Last season this happened 9 days after the Championship play off final.
Afternoon all I have no doubt Bielsa will sign a new contract, he might have put his shopping list in and is seeing how we get on with it before committing Didn't he agree to extend his contract last season on a set of conditions being met? The resigning of Harrison, getting Costa and not selling Phillips were three that I heard of...
yes he did but as the better teams with better players are still, playing there will be nothing done until then. On top of that we are talking about 3 or 4 from a couple of clubs and one of them will be promoted leaving a player or two. Bielsa will have a list of players he will take and sitting around for 2 weeks waiting for the play offs to end is stupid when there are other topmplayers around who are equal or better
It’s called browsing, you know it’s what the wife does when she goes round the shops when you won’t give her any spends
I'm quietly confident. 17th or above will do me next season, and hopefully as comfortably as possible. Bielsa has a lot to learn about the PL that he can't get from his data banks, so miracles shouldn't be expected. The season after (yes, you read correctly), watch us go! Signings? In Bielsa we trust. Foolish not to. Hopefully everyone will have patience with their long non-appearance whilst they get up to speed. Every cog in Bielsa's team must be engineered to fit into his machine. I think most of us realise this now. It's a pity that a vocal throng didn't last year (generally).
