I dont think you are finding an individual's salary and other earnings in any Accounts. Totals could be distorted by an exceptional case(s)
Even if Palace are paying Zaha £20m a year, their left over wage budget is x4 what ours is. Anyway, no point in discussing further. I appreciate that you're coming from a perspective of wanting the very best for the Rs and for us to keep our best players. I want the same thing ultimately.
Unfortunately all we, as supporters, can do is sit, wait and hope Short of one of us scooping £150m on Euro millions and buying into the club, we are dependent on the existing Board. They may invest some transfer receipts back into the playing staff or they may not. Much will depend on what can be generated from player sales - I doubt the Board will pump any more into the club for new players otherwise What ever happens in the transfer window I will be back cheering the team on - whoever is in it - at the start of the new season We've had worse times before COYRs!!!
I think that would be dependant upon whether Hearts win their case against relegation. If they do succeed (which I think is doubtful, but you never know) then Dundee Utd may be forced to sell as their promotion will be cancelled and they'll be back in the Championship. As I've said before, I passed on his details to the club a couple of years ago when they could've bought him for peanuts but they decided against it at the time. I'd guess now he'd be commanding a price of a couple of million, maybe more if there's a bit of a bidding war - Celtic were interested, but he'd rot on their bench probably unless they sell a couple of their forwards (Arsenal are interested in Edouard apparently). No idea on the status of McKenna at Aberdeen - he was crocked just before lockdown and was out for the season - may be available?
If we want to make this “alternative” strategy, then I believe that we need to agree new contract extension terms for both Eze and BOS. This for me is a “Go-No go” gate. I am not sure that they (Eze and BOS) will take it, but it is a question of selling a viable Vision and agreeing new and attractive terms. The business model we are trying to implement is to sell our home developed player assets for very good value and to invest with even better potential, this a a continually improving upward spiral. I don’t know the correct answer. I will watch and see what will develop. I am just pleased that we are able to discuss “theoretical” options or hypotheses, as this in itself shows that we have made great progress.
Mate, I live in Cloud Cuckoo land permanently Like you, I'd love to see us retain Eze and BOS on longer contracts, but I just don't see it. When/if the bids for Eze come in (which they will) the club will sell him. Ambition is great, but I'd rather we sell him and get the cash than us go all out trying to retain his and others services trying to push for the Holy Grail of the premier league and end up in adminstration or fall foul of FFP - again. Palace have put a £40m price tag on Zaha - maybe they see Eze fitting into that role?
Very wise and sensible words. However it is fun to gossip and speculate, although that is all which it is.
I'm afraid that if I were Eze or BOS I would be thinking that I could get a serious pay increase and play with better players who would in turn develop me further if I moved now I wouldn't want to accept (and I'm making these numbers up) £20k a week at LR, maybe doubling what I earn now, if I could get a deal of £30k plus elsewhere, plus a signing fee Sounds mercenary, but virtually no one offered a big pay rise to move in any other job would turn it down. Factor in that I could have as long in my remaining career at 54 than either Eze or BOS and it becomes a no brainer As supporters we tend to have an unrealistic view of football economics, owner's capacity to invest and player expectations. I certainly have in the past, together will a sense of injustice at how some other clubs seem to have unlimited budgets but that's life. There will always be someone with a bigger house or flashier car than me...I've accepted that and am happier as a result
It doesn't stop me from dreaming about all those gorgeous girls I'll attract when I win the lottery though Just need to start buying a ticket now
Oh how very true and sensible. A genuine “Reality Check”. The current COVID-19 situation has refocused me to “return to basics”. Football and QPR are very important as “hobbies”, but life does go in without them .. and most important is “Life” itself.
QPR have told clubs they want £20m minimum for Eze. I would take that. We could be about 10 really experienced championship players in their late 20s and early 30s for that. Not that I think QPR would buy that many, but the point I'm making is we could spend half of that and still get in some quality players.
Interesting as that is down from the £80million as at last summer. Has had a bit of an in and out season according to the locals round here. If we get £20million for Eze we'll have got a proper result...
Eze is a once in a generation talent for a club like ours. Kid has got everything and the attitude to match. £20m is honestly a steal for someone. See what Brentford’s front three go for if they don’t go up.
Funnily enough, I think Brentford going up could be good for us. Means they hold onto Benrahma for another season and so PL clubs looking for a good attacking midfielder for sale are more likely to compete over Eze, driving up his price. Every cloud and all that.
What worries me is we seem to have accepted a first bid this summer of €5 million for BOS, and now it seems numerous Clubs are happy to pay that for him. May all be media fantasy, but if true it suggests we could have Clubs bidding over each other and make a fair bit more than €5 million for him, if it's not too late. But BOS does have only a year left on his contract, so the risk of him going for nothing next summer is there. But Eze has 2 years left, we don't need to sell him yet, not until at least January. If there are a few Clubs interested in him at £20 million, we have even less need to jump at the first offer.
In fairness to the club, there is a big difference between accepting the bid and announcing that BOS has been sold when it's concluded, and what they did, which is accept the bid, and PR that to the highest heavens to try and entice further bids from clubs who think that the selling price is a steal.
20m for Eze with a sell on clause will do. Hopefully Warbs would get at least half of that to reinvest, any less and I would be pissed off. I really wish Eze all the best for the future, hes one of those players that puts bums on seats and I will follow his career, knowing that we progressed him to a multi million pound player!
Exactly. Saying we'll only accept £20m is just starting the bidding process. If no one wants to go for him, we get to see him stay.
Signed George Thomas a attacking midfielder from Leicester on 3 year contract, anyone know much about him?
