Good Morning. It's Monday 27th July, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road.

    Corberan eyes young Leeds talent

No sooner has new Huddersfield Manager Carlos Corberan got his feet under the table at the John Smiths Stadium, then he's been back in touch asking about the availability of some of Leeds young talent.

The 37yo decided that the time was right for him to take up a first team post, and left Elland Road last week with their best wishes, with Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani stating that the Spaniard 'deserved his chance'.

With Huddersfield desperate to strengthen their squad, the new 'Terrier' has asked about the availability of midfielder Robbie Gotts and goalkeeper Kamil Miazek, both on loan!

Leeds bid on highly rated Canadian ace

Gent President Ivan De Witte has claimed that Leeds have made a formal offer for their highly rated forward Jonathan David.

The Canadian International netted 23 times in all competitions last season, gaining interest from many clubs around Europe.

French outfit Lille have also made a formal approach for the 20yo believed to be 23m plus bonuses; however De Witte boasts the Whites have made a more attractive offer to him.

Leeds could also face competition from Liverpool, Everton, Tottenham and Newcastle

But it would appear that Leeds are firmly in the race for David, if De Witte’s comments are accurate.

Marcelo Bielsa currently has Patrick Bamford to call on as his first-choice striker. But the former Chelsea man is largely unproven at Premier League level, so reinforcements are expected.

Edinson Cavani has also been linked to a move to West Yorkshire. The Uruguayan International hs been capped 116 times by his Country, netting 50. However, at 33, its likely that Bielsa will seek a long term replacement to lead the front line.

Shockwaves sent through ER as Bielsa linked to Barca hot seat

Shockwaves were sent through Elland Road over the weekend after the Sun claimed that Lionel Messi had urged Barcelona to make Bielsa their new Manager. Even though the article was taken down the following day, thousands of Leeds fans took to social media to express their concern.

Leeds Utd journalist Phil Hay was quick to rubbish the Camp Nou link before posting the following update: “Checked at Bielsa’s end earlier. Nothing signed yet but they’re very confident it will get done.”

Bielsa was spotted at Goodison Park yesterday watching newly relegated Bournemouth beat the Toffee's

Radrizzani - We will look after Berardi

Leeds Chairman Andrea Radrizzani Radrizzani was quick to pay tribute to Gaetano Berardi at the club's end-of-season awards ceremony last Thursday evening and promised to stand by him following his horrific injury.

Berardi tore his ACL on the last game of the season against Charlton at Elland Road. The Swiss worst fears were confirmed when he was ruled out for nine months.

    Radrizzani was quoted as follows:

"As you know, Gaetano has been here for six years," the Italian said at the Elland Road bash. "Last week he got a bad injury so we don't know what's going on his in life, but we've prepared something to remind him he's Leeds, he's one of us whatever decision he will take. "He knows he can count on me and I think you as well. Gaetano, thank you for your commitment. "When Berardi plays we don't concede goals and we win games,"

    Morning all :emoticon-0148-yes:

just an update on David: the player pulled the plug on the Lille deal when he was told about 3 Prem clubs including Leeds enquiring about him. Lille then moved for their 2nd option striker and have agreed a fee and terms with Ranger striker Eduardo Morelos. Leeds offer to Ghent is circa £27m but not sure who the other prem clubs are?

    Morning all...

Bielsa won’t go to Barcelona far too much politics and players with contracts guaranteeing them game time.

I’d imagine Bielsa would be happy to loan players who are not considered ready to both Barnsley and Huddersfield.

Morning all. It pays to cheat as demonstrated by villa. Var didn’t work in their sheff game and a perfectly good goal not seen by blind linesmen and ref. Imagine how Bournemouth fans must feel today

Really nice to hear that Radz is looking after Gaetano, a class act indeed

Radz went up in my estimation after I watched the 'Take Us Home' series, seems a genuine man & comes across as a real fan, I'm even warming to Orta!

Wonder how the club are going to deal with our players who are having a holiday in Spain right now. Supposed to do 14 days quarantine FFS not sure how many there are but know that Pablo, Phillips, Poveda, Roberts are all together along with some WBA players and Ben White. I expect there will be a few more in that group. Pablo opted to go with the boys rather than watch his own team Castillon win its second promotion in 2 years since he put money into the club. So the team he has a share of are now up from Div4 to La Liga B

I wondered about that 14 day quarantine too. Wonder did they get some permission from the club. After all we were allowed an open top bus and thousands at the celebrations. Maybe with pl players being tested every 2 days or so, the isolation doesn't apply. Don't know

Bielsa @ watching game must bode well for a contract extension.

Agreed but who was he looking at? Brookes and Ake as defenders or Wilson and King as strikers? Fire sale will start this week at Bournemouth and a smart Bielsa straight in for a look :emoticon-0148-yes:

thats brilliant but would love to see that done for the period under Heckythump. This is the work of Bielsa and why we should avoid relegation next season :emoticon-0148-yes:

I hope Corberan does well as a manager. In a few years time we'll need a suitable replacement for Bielsa!

Only just watched "take us home" the last week. I stayed away from it until then because it hurt too much. Last season (Bielsa first) devastated me.

I watched it knowing the happy ending for this season. Far more palatable!

He should have stayed and got an education with Bielsa. I reckon Marcelo will jack it in after next season anyway. Corberan is just another seduced by money and now means nothing to me. He's just another dog botherer now at a club going nowhere.

Smell the Agents at work here the pot has been stirred. They will want their players back on prem wages and a nice slice themselves.
