I really don't care about the small town big mouth crap. I just don't want them to hit the financial wall. But I think the fan is just starting up next to the dung pile. Big trouble ahead.
Was busy so just caught up with the thread, sounds like another brilliant comeback, and well done Che and Danny! Can’t wait for the 5 seconds we’ll get on MOTD...
Yep, team seems to have e real togetherness. Scoring 3 v Sheffield Utd isn't easy and Alex kept us in it a couple of times. The players are enjoying their football and I'm enjoying watching them.
Great game to watch. Opened up a couple of times by Sheff Utd, Sharp should've buried his 1v1. Macca kept us in it, really. Shame Ingzy didn't get the boot. Chuffed for Adams, he was excellent today.
Fair play to Billy Sharp for getting a decent season in the Premier League, which he deserved. He’s not really got the quality you need so I don’t expect him to be playing much next season but at least he got a good go after leaving us.
I'm fully expecting them to struggle next season & be relegated. Missing out on Thursday night football has just increased their chances of survival.......a bit.
I would like Smallbone put on the same “tough guy” training scheme that JWP has been on. He has some good touches and is worth persevering with, but I would really like to see him bouncing off of players instead of holding back and letting them run round him. Still young and I am sure Ralph has something planned to build him up.
Fabulous. What a fabulous season. We finished 7 points behind Spurs and we spent the first half of the season getting ourselves sorted out. Pretty remarkable work by the club culminating in a good win to finish it up. Here's hoping the stability continues through what little off-season there will be.
The 'good season' summary from motd doesn't sit right with me. Fifty two points, our away form, the unbeaten run we put together at the end was marvelous. But the first four months was so calamitous that I can't pin one label on this season. Hopefully it will be a learning curve. There's great potential in this squad, but it wouldn't take much to erode the hard work.
Yes, Ralph has been on a learning curve since he has been here and has struggled tactically against well organised English style teams but on the evidence of today at least he has worked a lot of things out. It will be difficult to replicate the away performances but I think that the team's performance and results will improve at SMS next season. The biggest change though is the team spirit, Pierre apart, compared to what it was last autumn. It seems that the team has been boosted by Ralph's commitment and intesity and it shows on the pitch, they look like a band of brothers now.
