Maybe so, but in this climate who's going to offer a contract to a player who hasn't played for 2 ish years bar a few games recently. Sad fact but also going to be a lot of players without that record available on a free
Imagine trying to get a decent loan from Everton or Liverpool.... they'll have gone back and said ' thank ****' 'dont let anyone go there'...
I’d have kept on McKenzie as well. Home grown and he would easily fit within a league one wage structure.
Agree, but he needs developing, how much would he have got with us? It could be a lucky escape for him.
Depends if McCan’t stays or not. Hopefully he goes along with his dreadful lack of managerial ability.
Because we loan out our youth goalkeepers to the likes of Pickering and it leaves a hole in our U23s. To be fair to Mannion, he was an England youth so he had potential, but he had a few injuries too.
Because Burke and JDW won't be hanging around which leaves us short at CB. Angus is an experienced captain at league 1 level isn't he? Exactly what we need.
I'd have kept mckenzie. Don't think this year he was a championship player, he's certainly not a right back, but there's defo a l1 cb there for sure, and with JDW and Burke likely to leave cb options of Mcdonald, taff (who I'd make skipper), mckenzie, Mcloughlin and festus we'd be set there. Of the other released players, I'm gutted Stewart has gone, I realise that we couldn't have afforded to keep him but I think he's been an important player the past 2 seasons.
No really that bothered about those players released. Don’t rate McKenzie if I'm honest as a right back or a centre half. Mannion one is a strange one I’d have thought he’d be a better prospect than Ingram and probably a better keeper. How’s Tymon doing anyway?
