Wouldn't mind Barca having a friendly with a League 1 team though.

 

Basically what everyone has already said, Messi is without a doubt the best player in the world but it helps he has the other best players playing around him....i think if he played for a lower championship team he wouldnt nearly get as much service he would have to drop right back and basically do everything him self....

If he was in a decent CC/L1 team (i.e. not ****e where Messi has to carry the WHOLE team) I reckon 50+. He doesn't have as good service, but in return the opposition is much poorer and much easier to exploit.

It's a bit like Pele playing for Santos. The Brazilian league didn't have the best competition compared to other leagues, so Pele bagged himself 589 goals in 605 apps without much trouble.

I hate when people say things like "ohhh he'd struggle in England with the more physical teams" blah blah blah. It's such bollocks - he's absolutely rape CCC/L1 - would get at least 40 goals.

 

I couldn't see him doing it. The pitches aren't great and he wouldn't have class players around him. He would still score goals, but not the amount he gets in the Barca team.

48 games in the CCC/L1. He'd get at least 60 goals. He'd just literally destroy the division.

You've also got to take into account that the general gameplay and standard of pitch is gonna be awful though. Longballs constantly back and forward and he's only 3ft6 after all...

He'd have to get a team that played it on the ground.

 

The minute he'd get the ball he'd just run with it and no-one would be able to seriously stop him. Give him the ball and the chances are you've got a goal.
