Does the club still own the rights to the old club badge? Are we allowed to reproduce it on anything we want without recourse?
I don't know .... but I love the old badge (meaning pre-Allams) and I hate the Allam era versions. Not just because the new versions are associated with the Allams, but because the old one was great and the new ones are ****. We are Hull City A.F.C. and we are The Tigers. I really hope that one of the first things a new owner does is revert back to that pre-Allam badge.
Same. I'd be happier still with a new badge altogether. New dawn and all that bollocks. I dont actually mind the existing badge but it has too many negative connotations.
The tigers head is copyright as an image and you cannot use it without permission and if it’s for profit without a license.
The old badge is UK Trade Mark No. UK00002361556 https://trademarks.ipo.gov.uk/ipo-tmcase/page/Results/1/UK00002361556
https://trademarks.ipo.gov.uk/ipo-tmowner/page/search?id=344388&domain=1 They own 8 separate marks including 3 variants on the badge (old, 1904 and current) as well as the tiger's head in all its forms. They also own text marks "hull city afc" "hull tigers" and "hull city afc. The tigers"
It was actually completely pointless to register all three, they would get the same cover just filing for one of them.
