https://tbrfootball.com/report-wesl...ampton-permanently-this-week-5-9-million-fee/ Bye bye Wesley ... assuming you can get your inflated ego out of the door anyway.
If he`s one of the world`s best managers, how come he can`t get more than a mediocre tune, and some more fight out of what he`s already got ? Give me Ralph every time!
Great news - big loss but better off now than another loan. That is £5.9m extra for transfers and wages off the book for ever. Fingers crossed Carrillo & Lemina - even only if a few million.
Hoedt and Lemina are saleable assets unlike Carrillo and Forster. It would be great if Lemina could come back and fit our system as I doubt we will pick up someone of better quality this summer, but sadly looks too late.
Jose might get it right, but chaos never seems to be far away from him of late, and the fans could be a problem if they are bored ****less. I could see us finishing above Everton if we hit the ground running, guess it depends on who Carlo can attract into the Everton vortex.
Carrillo could go down as the worst signing we've ever made? He has made 24 apps in La Liga this season and scored once. Leganes were also relegated. Will anyone actually want him? His market value according to TransferMarkt is about £4m, two and a half years after we paid £20m for him.
Normally I would put Spurs as a guaranteed top 4 side - and they were with Poch. But the chosen one appears to have chosen to lose the dressing room so I expect to see a big dip at the start of the season, followed by a sacking, followed by a season of rebuilding confidence. Probably end up around 8th or 9th. You make a good point about Everton's manager but I still have more confidence in ours (and our board).
A mate said about Lemina coming back as a PEH replacement to me the other day, but I just can't see it. He seems to have a big ego and is all for himself, rather than the team like most our squad are. And like PEH, he would be off as soon as an Everton or above came in.
That signing is unfathomable. Whoever watched him and thought 'yeah, sign him up' must of been tripping.
Yeah I don't disagree about Spurs for next season tbh. I was just pointing out that they will definitely be in Europe next season no matter what happens now so Pierre would be joining an European club if he went there. I don't know enough about our board at this stage to know whether I trust them or not really but I certainly don't trust the owner. And I also know that we're utterly skint so likely aren't going to be able to upgrade the squad to the level required to push on beyond where we roughly sit now.
Pre Poch the club seemed to make a lot of very strange decisions including purchases. As I have previously said I do not believe this board has the wherewithal to move this club into a top ten side let alone a top 6. Sadly we don't seem to have an overly ambitious board of directors and personaly the sooner Goa goes the better maybe..........
I think it will be tight and they might need to widen the door but hoping it won’t be too much of a stumbling block... Stumbling block is really quite apt really considering he was full of mistakes and he talks about being good enough to fill VVD’s boots! He also says that he topped the charts for fitness, making out being fit warrants a place in the side. Having read the article it also made me chuckle with what he said about Ralph ‘That trainer (Hasenhuttl) is still there. Even after they were knocked 9-0 by Leicester, he was allowed to stay.” Well Wesley, look who’s laughing now! We have no room for big egos at Southampton and good luck with getting out of the door on your way out...
MP2 brought him to Saints having managed him elsewhere - he hadn`t a clue of what was required to fit in at Saints, or in the PL.
It was incredibly obvious as well wasn't it? I remember the general response on here being "Oh great, a striker who doesn't score. He'll fit in perfectly." Even more baffling that it was clearly a signing for Pellegrino who clearly wasn't upto it himself and who we sacked not long after. 20 million too. Bonkers.
