I can imagine Everton would want him, but would he want to go back to Merseyside and play for his old club’s rivals? And for a team who are pretty average? I could see Leicester, Arsenal and perhaps Spurs bidding for him, just not sure any could match his value (or at least what his value should be).
I've only seen rumours of interest from EPL clubs and read the situation as you do. Searching online doesn't show much certainly nothing concrete. This one of several sites saying not much at all. Deep breathes and a nice of tea or as the cricket is interesting a glass of cool Palm beer. https://www.newsnow.co.uk/h/Sport/Football/Premier League/Southampton/Forwards/Danny Ings
I'll try to be objective. Ings is clearly happy and the team is dong well. It's his boyhood club. He clealy could end up a legend here. Not sure on others, but I think we are looking good for next season. He would have to way up all the above, plus age and injuries and the fact that he had a big move once. If he went, he'd surely want to be first choice, which he wouldn't necessarily be at one the the 'biggies'. If he gets sucked into the Everton vortex, it could be all over! I sincerely hope we don't get ****ed over financially by Gao. Thanks Kat!
Just had a look on TSW (haven’t looked on there for months) because there is a couple of ITKs on there, and not even a mention of him leaving.
Is Beef still around on here? Haven't seen him post in a while and know he used to be one of this board's 'ITK' posters!
No Beef sadly decided to leave back in April, will he return? Unlikely but you never know. Billy over on TSW is usually well informed. Laces on here sometimes hears snippets ...and of course DTLW sometimes shares what he knows.
I take your point, and agree the funds are probably already set aside for those positions. You could swap RB and CB for a CM (when Hojbjerg leaves, possibly 2 CMs if we don’t want Reed, presumably we would sell him though and get some more cash), the ST to replace Ings and maybe an other in other positions (LB potentially for some depth/long term replacement for Bertrand?) I’m obviously using a lot of what if scenarios here but I would like to think/hope that this is the sort of thing the powers that be would be considering and weighing up if a large bid was to come in for Ings
I just read somewhere that earlier in the year Leicester were prepared to pay 26 million for Vesty and now they can get him for ‘only’ 15 million! Just mentioning this completely unbelievable ‘news’ as this is the kind of storm and lies the media can whip up and it could also quite easily be the same case with Ings...
I call bullshit on any discussions happening around Ings leaving in the coming window. If anyone has heard anything, let's have some sources, otherwise it's just a load of pretend ITK bollocks. Clubs might want him, but that's completely different to concrete offers actually coming in and being considered. Show me I'm wrong.
I see the forum is trying to self inflict panic on itself again. Let’s remind ourselves of the facts - 1 we operate on a self financing basis 2 the owners do not take money out of the club (or put money in) 3 we do not have to sell anyone 4 We have to use operating profit (including sales) to finance purchases. 5 Ralph signed a new contract reflecting confidence in the board to move forward with shared ambition From that we can expect likely offload sales this summer - Ely (to Celtic), Lemina, Carrillo, Hoedt all at knockdown prices to reduce wage bill. likely genuine sales - Hojbjerg and Vesty. incoming - KWP and Salisa. Also Reed and Foster returning from loan. Ings does not need to be sold, does not a want to leave and is crucial to our plans. I doubt anyone else will leave (other than possibly Boufal) and a few academy stars on season loans.
Yep, it's bad enough the media selling our players and touting our Manager to other clubs let alone our own fans...until he is walking out the door he is a Saint.
My faith in not selling Ings is not down to the owners at all, it's down to the fact that I can't see a big enough club spending as much as we'd want for him. I don't trust Gao in the slightest.
I mean, that is actually a decent offer, but with Spurs interested I think we could get £25m. I would say £15m/£20m is fair, he isn't a world beater and only has 1 year left.
