To these NUFC ****ERS, if you truly think this is amusing, I'll be happy (as I'm sure will others on the SAFC board) to organise a reciprocal orgy of posting threads on yours. Wonder how long it would be befor your mods "ban" people??

You lot do the exact same thing whenever there's "turmoil" at Newcastle, you've got to expect a bit of stick from rival fans.

You're welcome to post on our board if you have something constructive to put forward. I certainly wouldn't mind. In fact, I wish more 'outsiders' would post on our board as I'm interested in more neutral viewpoints.

To call other posters c**** is not what I'd expect of one whom claims to love talking about football. You confuse me often with this talk about debating but how is it a debate when you so often turn a discussion into a verbal slanging match. Before you tell me to toughen up or something similar I'd be interested if you could explain better. Your options at times can make sense but to refer to those whom don't agree with you using the language that you do would result in a visit to the A&E in the real world.

I agree that we lack star players but to put HBA as a star player for the mags is a joke, he scored one goal. He has the potential but he has not starred for the mags yet.

Star players..No, some good players yes.

Was hoping Sess was gonna be that player, but so far he hasn't delivered..

Maybe he's trying to build a team rather than individuals, who knows...

Our last star player was a certain striker, (not the African)...

As for your star players.......i'll give you Cabaye, from what iv'e seen of him.

What a crock of **** this thread has turned out to be, why , when a guy asks a serious question, he gets ganged up on, not very manly is it, more like bully boy tactics, but you are wasting your time with Chappaz, He is made of sterner stuff than that, but to answer the question, all our players are ok and only ok, some have had great years at other clubs, Sess when watched on youtube looks class, but never played in his true position, so recon he will be off shortly. Gordon, injury prone, so realy the only real answer is,,,,,NO.

Would hardly say Cabaye is a real star player yet, but yes I admit he has potential but you have to understand that nobody outside of the Newcastle bubble even knows Cabaye simply because he hasnt scored any goals or had any assists yet.

Tiote I would say is definately the best player at his job in your team and would walk into most teams into the Premier League.

Ben Arfa well time will tell on this chap as its a big injury hes coming back from.

With regards to my team I would say our standout players are probably Gordon/Brown/Sessegnon as previously mentioned, the rest of the players are too new to call "standout" yet.

I dont neccessarily think its a good thing to have "star" players in your team due to ego's and disruption they can cause or unwanted attention, just look at Bent & Gyan for us and Carroll & Barton for you guys. Our so called "star" players just simply get tapped up by richer clubs or bought by the top 4.

Sorry Chappaz, the original post lost all credibility in my eyes when you mention Ben Arfa and Cabaye as star players. Really?? No one can judge that yet as they only have a handful of EPL appearances between them. They may turn out to be but not done enough in my book yet.

I've only seen Cabaye once (the derby game) and I thought he was pretty anonymous apart from the horrendous tackle on Bardsley for which he should have been sent off for.

Star players at the Scumsville HQ today?

A totally obsessed with Sunderland Star bell-end poster more like it.

The funny thing is he keeps telling anyone who will listen he is a reasonable chap who just likes to discuss football issues. Then he comes on with this **** stained drivel.

I refuse to discuss anything with a man who has to sit down to take a piss. When will my fellow Sunderland fans stop trying to engage this cockless **** and tell him to just **** right off on every post?

    I find it most invigorating.

Now **** right off Chappess. There you go? I am invigorated.

Tiote, Cabaye and Ben Arfa "star players"??? Really??? I doubt anyone outside the NE1 postcode has heard of them mate to be honest. I would say the likes of Brown, Bentdner (potentially) and O'Shea would be considered in this category.

However I do agree we do not seem to have anyone player playing excellently right now, or a leading man we can rely on to score like we had in Bent.

    I'll answer his question:

Tiote - Class act (but rather dirty - like a good version of Cattermole - although he's not been as effective this season as he's had no-one to pass the ball to when he wins it)
Ben Arfa - (played about 1 and a half hours of PL football - and he's a top star??

Cabaye - do me a favour - he was ****e up until last week - he has had one good game (against awful opposition) for you and he's a "Star player" - (This is a comment from one of my Newcastle season ticket holding friends as well by the way - although, on what I have seen of him on televised games, I agree)

Star players are often a downfall to teams - these players often cause problems in the dressing room by making their mouths go - we have Brown, O'Shea, Sessegnon and Bendtner in our side who I would class as a class above

Really - Against QPR I didn't know he was playing until the after an hour - he was anonymous - against us he was terrible as well. (that's a third of the season) - before that he was poor against Arsenal (anonymous again) - that's half of the games played so far - May have been finding his feet as he's done well in the last couple of games (Villa and Blackburn) but neither of those opponents have exactly set the world alight have they?

As for MoTD doing a segment on him - it's not like they have anyone that supports Newcastle working prominently for them have they <whistle>

Right this really has degenerated into a slanging match! The real difference between the two clubs is we have a manager who knows what he is doing (can't believe I am saying this) and they do not!

The OP was designed to start a slanging match. It's what the poster does.

As to you having a manager who knows what he's doing, I think if you look at his history you might find that he has a habit of knowing what he's doing for a short time only!
