The Allams may think the plan will work when we are in League 1. Lower overall running costs and still profits to be had on selling players. I have already pointed out a failing with that a few days ago.
I know half a dozen people who have some nice money coming on Wednesday BB.... backed at 66/1 and 80/1... they;ll take pleasure and no pleasure in it... I wonder if Burnsy and Swanny who like a punt did there same..
Lower sell on values too though for L1 players. There's nothing wrong with it as a strategy as long as you have someone other than Darnborough as head of recruitment. You also need experienced pros with knowhow as the spine of the team to pass on the experience on the pitch. Can't just assemble a load of kids and expect them to establish themselves at any level in the professional game. Get the feeling vocal and experienced leaders aren't encouraged at city though as they're too much of a threat to the current regime, which is why we have what what we're seeing at the moment.
You'll always get a few people who take a tilt at long shots and well done to them. However,in answer to the question you're referring to,the bookies are really, really sharp nowadays on betting trends and patterns(I've got a mate in the industry) and they're into anything suspicious almost immediately. For every person that bet us to go down, there would've been 10 betting we stayed up or achieved the play offs.
I don’t do betting, but isn’t 500k at 80/1 a £40 million return? I think you might guess where I’m going with this. A fair old bigger plan perhaps
it’s nowhere near £5m, it’s about £1.5m, there’s absolutely no way you can cut costs enough to make League One pay more than the Championship.
Finally sunk in what happened yesterday. Boils my pizz at the thought of relegation but it been on the cards for a while now.. It’s this ‘bigger picture’ bollocks that has got me intrigued. So many conspiracy theory’s but to get to the point it’s been obvious for years that the owners want out but just how the hell is Ehaw going to find a buyer now especially as after yesterday’s calamity we’re the current value of the club must of all but halved in the business world apart from the seller himself?
Per 2018-19 the difference was £4m https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Premier_League_parachute_and_solidarity_payments
That’s just the solidarity payments, not the total TV money, League One clubs get just over £1.4m, while Championship clubs get a basic fixed £6.8m, with an additional £100-140k for each televised game.
The main issues about yesterday's game from my perspective: McCann picked Magennis and Eaves but then played Magennis in midfield. Wilks missed a great chance with a header very early on. We should have had a penalty for handball but easy for referee to miss it. A Luton player could have been sent off for the headbutt in the chest. Maybe the referee was watching the play. The assistant referee should have been able to see it though. McCann must have been reticent to play many of the subs because it was clear that our defenders were tired while Luton's attackers were fresh. Although some of the above could easily have gone our way for the majority of the match Luton were on top.
Just gunna have to wait and see how this all pans out. Time for a break and some sunshine. Stay safe everyone.
To answer .... he isn't. They'll continue to cut costs and plan to get promoted from L1. I hope he and McCann have learnt harsh lessons and that it works. I doubt it will. They are too incompetent (Ehab, McCann, Byrne).
So the next question is how much do you save if everyones salary is halfed? Not the Allams of course because they don't and never have taken a penny.
