If you dont want to pay 8 million, then sit back and think who else you could get as good or better than Onouha for 8 million? Not a lot so it is decent value for money

Fully agreed, £8m is probably on the high side, £6m probably a bit closer to his real value but do we want another Hutton situation? full backs of their calibre don't come along too often so i would be tempted to bite the bullet and stump up the £8m even if it a little bit over the top. Anyway, who's to say that's what we would eventually pay? SB & NQ have a reputation of getting players on the cheap so lets see what they can do. One thiong is for sure, if he is for sale then SB will due his best to get him.

i just don't see us paying £8m, it's not a question of who is better because city won't hold us to ransom - they have farmed out £50m worth of players on loan in january alone, they won't make us pay that, because it's too much. i don't know who we could get who would be better, but £8m for onuoha is crazy money, and we don't spend crazy money. we payed £10m for bent, £13m for gyan, we aren't going to spend close to that on a full back.

city, chelsea and villa are doing their best to make footballers fees self-referential, but as long as others don't play ball it won't matter - i simply can't see us paying that. again, if we walked away from hutton (who was brilliant for us, and has been top class this season for spurs, who are a better side than us on the whole) at £8m, why would we pay the same for onuoha, when city are giving their players away??

In short, we are all delighted with Nedum and he's quality.

We keep him whatever iot takes, and it's another settled player, rather than new blood.

If we want to have a go for europe next year, our chances decrease with every new recruit, Nedum is more than good enough, and he's a good lad.

    Keep him, simple.

suppose how much we pay depends on city's attitude i guess, but i do agree, we need to keep the lad, he's a class act.

What we don't know yet is how much money we will have in the transfer budget. £18/24 million plus what? Ned, Mensah, Elmo, Welbeck and striker plus who knows, maybe a left back? This could amount to more than we have in the kitty as I'm guessing there will be a top limit on what we can spend and horse trading will be needed to strengthen the squad. We have to trust in Short, Quinn and Bruce to do the best they can for the Club.

I think 8 million is a bit much considering Hutton was about the same and Hutton is a better right back (IMO). I don't know if we have an agreement in place already but I'd be looking more around the 5/6 milion mark max.

Plus lets remember we have an Argentine international who is adapting to Premiership football at the club. Angeleri is a quality player who had a bad injury, watch this space for end of season/next year.

Personally I think our priority will be a striker, where the majority of our kitty will be spent.
It will then be using what is left, to bring in or purchase other players.
I too feel £8 million is way over priced, he has proved himself to be a very capable footballer but an 8 million pound defender?

    not for 8m

there is better full backs across europe who we could get for 8m am positive of it

if we did sign him for that though I wouldn't complain he has been a good player for us needs to improve going forward but he is solid as a rock defensively

I cant beleive this, but I agree with chris here......

Cheaper fullbacks in Europe? yes, probably. ones that are proven in the Premier league? no way.
