Well here we are - two games left and not enough points to be sure of avoiding relegation. In theory Charlton can stay up with 47 points. But a lot of other results will have to go our way. The most likely one to go against us is Hull v Luton, 3pm kick off tomorrow. If we have lost against Wigan by then, a win for Luton OR Hull will drop Charlton into the bottom 3 with one game left to play. Wigan's form and ours suggests the most likely result will be a 0-2 away win for the Latics. However the bookies apparently think we are more likely to get a point or even three rather than lose. That is optimistic of them.
A draw would be an excellent result, given the weakness of our team and the strength of Wigan's. They are still looking to rack up as many points as they can to make life awkward for the EFL.
the only positive i think that will come from today will be that we cant be relegated even if we lose heavily.
Hopefully we will come out of the traps lively and take the game to Wigan. Somehow I doubt it as we have more reason to be happy with a draw than Wigan, the pie munchers need a victory badly.
Bonne deserves a pay increase for his very successful start to his career with South London's biggest club. Also as a thank you for today's goal. See you next season TC the Spanner
i thought putting in davidson and doughty was great. the kids always show more grit than the "stars". problem was, when he meddled at half time, we looked way worse in the second half. we have a small chance of staying up now. just need to equal or better one of luton or wigans results
Wigan must win Luton must at least draw We have to lose I would say we have a good chance of staying up, there are too many permutations in the way of us going down. We might even beat Leeds to make it all academic!
