Actually we’ve got slavery all over the world but I agree with you about the false equivalences being trotted out. personally I’m against all this pulling down statues crap. I understand it but these individuals are part of our history, part of what our country once was. I’d keep them but present them so it’s clear what they did, in total, not just commemorate the fact they donated some dosh to the local (then white) poor. There’s also the problem that Very few ‘great men’ in history did not have failings, especially as they operated to the standards of their time, not ours. One of the most extreme cases I recall was the chappy who wrote all those fine words when you illegally declared independence from the benign guiding hand of Britain - Jefferson - who managed to write ‘all men are created equal’ while owning 600 slaves himself.

The average player I guess wouldn't really know why they are doing it, it could be peer pressure as well. Makes me sick myself LL, just like the one showing a young Aussie girl getting repeatably punched by a couple of blacks and she was too afraid to report it and now won't leave her home. Her mother went to the police but they wouldn't or couldn't do anything unless the victim came forward. But if it happened white on black you'd see the incident investigated immediately and reported as a race crime.
It’s sinking in then Jonny, you accept slavery is still happening today but you are sympathetic to only the black slaves from nearly two hundred years ago, the irony is all religions have done evil things in the past, as have every country around the globe. Sickening, but I'm not going to taint every black person with the sins of these maniacs. My real problem is that so many of the virtue signalling whites and many of the black community, certainly not all, will not accept that there is a problem. I'm singling out the black community because we know and accept that whites have a problem. Why is there such a problem in predominantly black neighbourhoods in the USA? It can't always be someone else's fault.
