Seems unfair to criticise given recent weather, but it is Lancashire so fair game, but, this really is a dog of a pitch/ground. Watching a lot of the coverage today and batsman just getting absolutely no value for shots at all. Sibley's shot to go to 100 is a prime example, nicely timed push, you'd expect it to go for 4 with where the field are. Seen a fair bit of moaning about players approaches and batting too slowly, but you can only bat on what's put in front of you
Our ground is about 10 minutes away from Old Trafford and had a warm up on it this week and it's horrific. The ground is just saturated, constant rain and when it hasn't rained there's been no sun at all. I was surprised the pitch wasn't greener than it is, but they seem to have done well. I wonder what the next pitch will be like, and hoping with some sun next week it might be a bit better! As you are spot on Sibley probably hit another 4/5 boundaries comfortably.
Bit of a collapse by the West Indies, finished the day 272-8, however, passed the mark of the follow on, so England will have to bat again. Broad got 3 wickets, which is something he deserves.
They're still playing John, 283/8 now! Weather looking good for tomorrow, pretty much nailed on for a draw now I'd guess. Pleased for SB.
