The ****ing ****er brings it upon himself though.

If he suffered that much abuse why is he still happy to earn British coin.

Person who doesn't understand what defunding the police even means. Hint: It doesn't mean 'get rid of'.

I doubt many of the BLM protestors know what it means tbh, or what their stance is on Israel and other issues.

It reminds me of 'Girl Power' tbh ...

... lots of people making the gesture, and trotting out the catch phrase, with no idea what it means.

Looking in, from the outside, BLM seem to keep making decisions that are just ever so slightly wrong.

It's an admirable cause but choosing Floyd as the 'martyr' and 'Black Lives Matter' as the slogan are mistakes imo.

Now we have the erection, in Bristol, of the 'Surge of Power' statue of one of the people involved in the original criminal damage. It seems the clenched fist pose and the slogan is a reference to the Black Power movement.

In a 'naughty schoolboy' moment the sculptor said it had been put up without any consent at 4.30 in the morning, snigger snigger.

It's all a little childish and is only 'preaching to the converted'.

    Preaching to the converted.

And you don't even see the irony.

Wrong yet again, I knew precisely what I was saying ...

    ... hence the apostrophes.

Usual drivel from you, ignore the point and go straight to grammatical nuances and buzzwords.

Irony ffs, the internet warriors favourite word <doh>

    The point is still valid.

One would assume that someone who wants the police defunded wouldn't call them if they were in trouble (whilst they are still in existence with the resources to assist that is to clarify for some)

That would be incorrect. The point is to stop the continued militarisation of the police on the streets (particularly in the US) and to divert more of the funding that could help prevent people falling into crime, have more appropriate responses to situations so that police officers work alongside professionals. At the moment the vast majority of spending (again, particularly in the US) goes into making the police a quasi-armed force. That is what defunding means, to take away the ridiculous spending power to arm unelected, clearly in many cases officers who are unqualified judges jury and executioners.

    In your opinion.

Sadly, if defunding was to happen the first thing that we would see is a decrease in numbers on the force as it's the highest overhead. Once that happens crime rates would soar.

I'm no great fan of the cops like but giving them less money is a bit mental considering how many crimes they don't get round to solving. When you look at those numbers, I think there's actually a decent argument for giving them more funding.

So you want to remove the ability of the US police to take on criminals potentially tooled up with weapons that wouldn't be out of place in a war zone?
obviously it should never have been allowed to get to that stage in the first place, but it's an inevitable consequence of their strange definition of freedom.

I just want to come back to this part in bold...

As far as i'm aware, County Sheriffs and police commisioners in the US are the only elected law enforcement officers (happy to be corrected).

As to the "clearly many cases" part of your comment. How many cases are there where the police have been unjust executioners? I'd be interested to see those statistics and i'd assume seeing as you're a stats man you'd have them to hand.

BLM wants to stop police funding everywhere that hey feel Black people are discriminated against, correction, make that everywhere.

I pose these questions to you.

    1. Are the Police recipients of "Ridiculous spending" in the UK?
    2. Are in your opinion the police unqualified in the UK?
    3. Are the majority of the police unqualified in the USA? (If so why and please show us the data that corroborates it).
    4. Do people of BAME appearance commit a dispropotionate percentage of the violent crime both in the UK and/or the USA?
    5. Do more white people die in custody than those of BAME in both the UK and USA?
    6. If the answer to 4 is yes then why is the answer to 5 yes as well?
    7. Do you feel that a reduction in funding to police worldwide would result in a reduction in crime, particularly that committed by those who identify as BAME?

I'm sure the entire board awaits your reasoned response with baited breath.

    He won't :emoticon-0145-shake

We've been incredibly patient with him, but because of his almost constant disruption, he's gone.

I'm not 'over the moon' to be doing this 'cos he did contribute positively at times, but in the main he was disruptive and caused agitation to quite a few, so that's it :emoticon-0148-yes:

I can tolerate any amount of abuse, I have to from my kids, relatives, mates, posters, colleagues and, particularly Mrs Smug ...

... so abuse from Kittenmittons is water off a ducks back tbh.

I did 11 years on the doors so have heard every insult you could dream of, but this lad is just relentlessly boring.

I post some radical stuff but try to balance it by posting idiotic drivel on the jokey threads ...

... people like him and Shameless only post on their pet intense threads where they think they can lecture people.

Well they can just f**k right off, I'm too old and content to be lectured by anyone ...

... either debate with a little humility or f**k off to a forum where you can say anything you like and get the same back.
