No but what you or I can afford is irrelevant. It's simple supply and demand and whether we're in the PL, Championship or indeed league 1 we seem to be pretty full for most home games. At the moment demand seems to outstrip supply so most businesses would raise the price, particularly for season tickets. I think I'm right in saying that all the season tickets get picked up pretty quickly.

So kick out the real supporters and bring in the "prawn cocktail" fair weather supporters who can afford the inflated prices.
Would they have stood by the club when we got relegated to 1st Div? I doubt it.
I've read some stupid things recently, mainly from Boris and Trump, but this takes the biscuit<doh>

I would imagine, if things with Coronavirus don't get worse, that we'll see a steady increase in capacity throughout the season. If the club have already taken money from season ticket holders, I'd imagine they'll keep it all until the end of the season, and issue a rebate for the games missed, or use it for a deduction on a 21/22 season ticket.

Random thought, the club had a license approved for a drive-in cinema in the Carrow Road car park back in 2018. I'm not aware of that plan going anywhere, but might this not be an opportunity for it? The limited number of drive-in cinemas in the UK have already been allowed to re-open. No idea what the capacity of the Carrow Road car park is, or would be as a cinema, but it might be a neat way of hosting something extra on matchdays at Carrow Road?

A lot of fans seem to want 'prawn cocktail' owners, might as well have the fans to go with it. I reckon the club could add a £100 to a season ticket and still sell out, so why not increase the price. If they don't sell out season tickets then they'd still probably get a full house each week selling tickets on a game by game bases. May even get some fans who can't buy a season ticket, because they can't go every game a chance to see the odd game. Basic supply & demand. What's Trump & Boris got to do with it ?

obviously a new movement is about to start. ASM, away supporters matter, so all you season ticket holders are doomed. Doooomed I tell you.

To give you an idea. I bought - but never used for reasons mentioned elsewhere - a season ticket last season for Nice and it cost me 270 Euros. The cheapest was 180 Euros. Only PSG supporters pay on average more than 500 Euros. The average gate at Nice is about 23K and only PSG, Marseille, Lyon and Lille usually average over 30K. With little TV money you can see why all our best players end up in England.

Because like Boris and Trump you are pushing your "out of step " opinions, with no regard to the current season ticket holders.
Sellout to the highest bidder and **** the rest is your policy.

I made no comment in relation to this seasons ticket price only next.

I didn't realise 'out of step' opinions weren't allowed I've clearly misunderstood the point of this site. Please feel free to educate me on what opinions I'm allowed to have............... Hold on didn't both Trump & Boris win elections, and to think they did it with out of step opinions.

Anyway supply & demand is a basic commercial concept.

Thanks for telling me what my policy is, but actually you've got it wrong.

Maybe what the club should do if they can't reduce demand by increasing the price is give those that miss out on a season ticket one season priority the following season. That would be fair. Clearly if season tickets are under subscribed then the price should go down.

So your theory, based on supply and demand,is forget all the previous season ticket holders and throw it open to first come, first served.
Your last comment recommends that once the regular season ticket holders have been discarded and we fail to sell the following season allocation, reduce the price.
    Market forces will dictate this.
That looks like a good plan for generating reliable income for the future seasons.
Out of interest ,are you a season ticket holder?
Feel free to not answer if you think its not relevant.

In general, post covid Norwich could have a 30-35k stadium and fill it I think. However if everyone loses their jobs then maybe people can't afford the prices. Whilst the stadium can't be filled due to covid, there needs to be some imagination as to how to maximise revenue streams.

Here is what I would do if we could fill some seats:

    Say 25% capacity was allowed = 6,750
If away support was allowed, limit it to 250 = 6500 tickets left
With existing season ticket holders allow 5500 tickets, done via a lottery, people find out 2 weeks before whether they have been chosen, they can accept or decline. If they are chosen they are ineligible for the next two home game draws. You get a refund foe each match you don't get a ticket for, you can also decline to be entered for a round.
Remaining 1000 seats = If you are a member you can bid for the seat, season ticket holders unsuccessful can also bid for the seat. Minimum price £40 a seat regardless of concessions, whoever bids the highest gets it.

I think if you can get roughly a quarter in per game, then literally rotate the tickets every 4 games, have a trading scheme if you are not available for one game on your go, have sections for larger and smaller groups to sit together in family units whilst still observing distancing. If you are seeing only a quarter of games (Subject to fluctuations as rules change). Away and member fans to fight it out for the same proportion of tickets that are currently available.
Members tickets on a lottery basis, you get one, you are ineligable until at least 80% but preferably all other members who have applied have got a ticket. Membership pricing might be more complicated to price, if you quarter it, it almost costs too little so unless capped memberships, a member might not end up being able to see more than e.g. 2 games (A gamble of course on whether more seats become availble through the season.) I think maybe look at the seats casually available and allow member numbers allowing for 4-5 games each. Prioritise existing members before non-members for these.
After this season the membership scheme needed a serious review anyway, so lets see what happens.
Above and beyond that, facemasks should be compulsory and with lots of sanitation stations, 1m should be an OK distance for segregation. The bars I don't think can be openned, the toilets one way and staggered arrival and departure times could ensure maximum capacity.
bar being closed of course is more lost revenue.

    Bah!

Believe each league still has to separately agree to implement this? It's just saying that it's theoretically allowed.

A bit of me thinks we could benefit from this next season, we have a squad of players who are mostly of similar ability, just with different strengths. The squad depth to make 5 changes without terribly weakening the side will be there.

But on the flip side, we did well in the Championship before because we had excellent fitness, and teams won't be so tired at the end of a game if they can make 5 changes. We'd also need to have a coach prepared to make changes at a meaningful time.
