I'm convinced that the hold up is the PL satisfying themselves that the Saudis are working through a list of things they need ticking off before they will allow them to announce the deal. As to what is on that list and how far they are through that list only the PL and the Saudi's will know that but I can't imagine that there would be too much on it.

1. Address human rights issues - Tick
2. Address piracy issues - Tick
3. Agreement in principle on TV rights - Tick
4. Ensure announcement is made on a Wednesday - Tick
5. Make Richard Keys disappear - tbd

There is the matter of that Man Utd sponsorship deal causing a conflict of interest but I'm not sure if that's a blocker or not....seems to make sense that it would be but I'm no expert on that matter.

 

I'm not convinced it does make sense, but there's so many variables going on - AS court case, end of season, PL incompetence, this sponsorship, terms of the deal (who's to say the deal itself isn't "complete" until the season ends?) that we could forever guess and probably will never get to know.

 

Is it still with the PL though?

 

if it is it can't be long until they give PIF and AS the nod. I'm wondering if they are holding off with an announcement until something else can be announced (by the PL, not the club). When the takeover is announced it is going to create a media frenzy/****storm, they may want to have something else lined up to mask it/soften the blow to serve as a general distraction. I'm not sure what that else that could be. TV rights deals, transfer window dates, new fixtures or something completely different....who knows. They certainly can't say they haven't taken their time on this that's for sure.

 

We need to up the pace. Panicking this isnt going to get to 1000 pages before the announcement.

My money is on July 31st. First Friday after season finishes and coincidentally Eid al adha - Muslim day of sacrifice. Mike Ashley to be hung upside down off the crossbar at the Gallowgate End and have his throat cut.

 

That seems a bit unrealistic to me. No way that allows enough time to reinforce the crossbar following the end of the season.

I think people are searching for anything and everything other than the reality .

the reality is it's taking along time because it's complicated..

 

That's it. I'm done with 2020. Everything has just got too far fetched.

I can just about accept a global pandemic that brings the world economy crashing down and worldwide race protests. But Chaos telling everyone else to get a grasp on reality is taking things too far!
