Sounds like an excuse to me

They should have looked for each other...it’s a bad habit neither seems to shake off

Son has always been a greedy player - so often avoids passing when a teammate is better placed. Love him as a player, but this needs to be coached out of him. There is a balance between confident and deluded. If Kane is now doing it (and he has a great assist record) then I don't blame him. Start to feel stupid if you are setting up the other guy but he won't set you up. Against Arsenal, Son had a golden chance to set up Kane for a one-on-one with the keeper and decided to go for glory himself. When in top form, you don't mind as he scores plenty, but he has been dogshit for months now and still won't pass.

I understand yesterday when Kane didn’t look for Son because just prior, Son ignored Kane when the pass was on, lesson taught I hope.

I’m talking about both in the grand scheme, this is not a one off...if both are that way inclined then we suffer and ultimately I don’t care about either for it to override what I want for Spurs.

Moura put a massive shift in yesterday up and down supporting his fullback. Sissoko likewise on the other side

Winks was bang average...all I recall is him getting twisted in the middle turning their defending into attacks with too much ease.

our midfielders need to improve on their stats big time

It wasn't as though he just ran head down he looked up several times as if he was looking for the pass but it never arrived - I am not sure if it was greed or just that he didn't think that the pass was on.

I agree regarding the work rate of both Sissoko and Lucas, but Lucas had a lot more end product. The trouble with having a right wing of Sissoko and Aurier is that when it comes to putting the ball in, you are stuck between a rock and a hard place.

yes no real end product but lots of hard work.

Aurier plays the same low driven ball and Sissoko can’t even manage that, he has terrible composure. If only we could put Ndombele’s talent into Sissoko

Of course I wasn’t born a Spurs fan, I was only born a Setubal fan in Portugal...but I consider myself a top professional. When I became Spurs manager, in my mind, I said I have to love this club and I have to love these fans. So I understand what the fans want, so before the game I told my boys

“You have to wear the fans skin”

Love this guy at our club

I had no idea Mourinho was from Setubal. I lived for a month there and got to love it. It seemed to have a bunch of interesting, good restaurants and cool clubs that stayed open till dawn. The people I met were really friendly and interested in having fun. Speaking the world's worst Portuguese seemed to help me make friends.

I was born and raised in Reading and although I’m a Spurs fan, Reading are big rivals with Oxford and I have distant relatives who live in High Wycombe so I’ll be rooting for them tonight

Echoing what others have said, Lucas (or their keeper) was MOTM. Put in his best performance since the CL Semi.

Davies kept Bolasie, sorry, Pepe in his pocket whilst Toby and Dave never seemed too troubled other than when Aubameyang hit the bar.

I felt our midfield could’ve done more, all three didn’t seem to do ‘enough’ in my eyes even if they did work hard. Would’ve liked Skipp and/ or Ndombele to have come on for two of them a lot earlier than when Jose finally brought Skipp on.

Kane and Son both probably could’ve had a couple of goals.

All in all, despite their high possession stats, I felt it was quite easy for us. They scored a worldy from a heavy touch by Aurier and then hit the bar, other than that Hugo could’ve sat down and had a cuppa. We tested Martinez a hell of a lot more as he made some good stops coupled with poor finishing by us.

May have to do another DH road trip, be rude not too, right?

In case anyone was wondering, Between The Posts has put our passmap behind a paywall - but you can get the Nomads' for free!
