Good Morning. It's Monday 13th July, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road.

Lasp gasp goal edges Leeds closer to Premiership

Big Jack enjoyed the best seat in the house yesterday lunchtime, as Leeds edged ever closer to the Premiership.

The Whites last trip to Wales three weeks ago had ended in defeat, and Bielsa's men were determined not to let the same happen again for their outing to the Liberty Stadium.

The game itself was anything but a classic. Although the Whites had the lions share of the chances, few could have grumbled if the game had finished goalless.

As the Swans began to tire in the last half hour, the game opened up. Swansea on loan keeper had to be at his best to keep out Bamfords diving header from point blank range.

The stalemate was broken on the cusp of second half injury time. A Swansea attack was diffused, and Leeds broke clear down the right with Ayling. His eventual cut back (after good work from Klich and Costa) found Hernandez.

Even though the ball was beyond the Spanish star, he was able to take a touch, turn, swivel and shoot as he guided the ball past the helpless Woodman.

The significance of the goal was plain to see by all. Whilst LUFC commentator Bryn Law was having kittens, the veteran magician was being mobbed by all and sundry.

Leeds need a maximum of four points from their remaining three games. Brentford have kept their 100 percent record intact since the league restarted three weeks ago, chalking up six wins in a row. West Brom draw at Blackburn heaps pressure on Slaven Bilic's team, with the Bees only three points behind them!.

Leeds are three points clear of West Brom and 6 points clear of Brentford with three games / nine points up for grabs.

    Bielsa's post match reaction

    Swansea head coach Steve Cooper:

"We felt comfortable in the game. They probably had a couple more clear chances than we did, but I thought we got into as many good areas as them.

"We're really disappointed to concede like we did that late on. It's a tough one to take, but we've quickly got to get over it. There are still points to play for.

"Whether we had drawn or won today, we still would have had to pick up points in the remaining games.

"There were lots of good bits from the performance. I'd have liked us to keep the ball a bit more if I'm honest. I felt like a set-piece might decide it, whether it was for us or them. Both teams set up tactically well so for them to get through at the end is obviously disappointing."

    Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa:

"The match was very close with only a few chances. As the match progressed our possibilities grew. We deserved to score in the last 30 minutes and get what we got in the end.

"I cannot enjoy this yet. The only thing I can enjoy is the last objective, if we get it.

"More than feeling what we feel, we are more relaxed because we are taking the steps we had to. Of course, when you score at the end it's a higher feeling, emotion. The bigger emotion, we didn't get this yet."

    Morning all.

That result was and is as impressive as a 5-0 win.

Swansea were a good side set up well. The referee seemed determined to stop us playing by blowing his, whistle for all and every innocuous foul/touch.

Well done to the team for battling to that win.

Wow.. What a tense game that was indeed. I'm going to be a Preston fan on Wednesday to push Brentford to a draw at the very least! If the draw and we win at Barnsley, we're up! Dreams coming true at last. I have everything crossed for this 4 points required, but would love it to come sooner the better of course.

Great result and revenge because they scored to beat us in the last minute at ER
I have been thinking about new CB and have come up with Ayala cost nothing coupled with Ben Gibson from Burnley .Remember Burnley paid out £15m for him but he has failed to settle perhaps Ayala brought the best out of him at Boro and a fee about £5m so secure his services
WBA have now got only 3 points above Brentford and the pressure is on.I think that even if they fail the autos Brentford will go up whereas WBA will have a fight on their hands Good Morning to Matt and co from a dull Bardsey

To improve on the team we've got we need better than cast offs.

I thought Ben White was excellent again yesterday. If Leeds are going to buy a defender then he is the one, break the bank!

God, Steve Cooper really is a prat isn’t he? No humility at all. They were well organised but nothing more than that. Their game plan was to disrupt the flow and play for a point. Good win, but if they make the play offs I’ll be stunned.

It’s not over yet, I still think Brentford will win every game so we just need to make sure we beat Barnsley on Thursday. They’re fighting for their lives, they’ve got a load of ex-Leeds players in the squad who will no doubt be fired up, plus it’s a Yorkshire Derby (albeit with no fans). Keep Pablo in reserve for the second half again, it’s a tactic that’s working and keeping him fresh at the moment.

Biggest win of the season imo. Pressure was on and we found a way to win.

We would have lost that last season.

WBA need 2 wins and a draw.

Fully expect them to win their last 2 against Huddersfield & QPR, which means it boils down to Fulham on Tuesday for them when a point might be enough.

Brentford will likely win all their 3 against Preston, Stoke & Barnsley.

It's therefore better we assume we're going to need all of the 4 points required to seal promotion, anything less and we could still fall short. Great result yesterday and we're definitely getting closer but we need to be absolutely 100% aware that nothing has been achieved yet.

Quite frightening to think that in 10 days it will all be over...hopefully.

    Morning All

I'm coming out of the wood work

Honestly I'll put my hands up and admit that I was wrong about my comments are the Preston defeat. Back then I honestly thought we weren't going to make it up but the skies look brighter today.

This is the kicker, I think we will need serious improvement over the 'summer' if we are going to make a good go at it but we'll see what Orta and Bielsa can pull out of the bag in the next few day.

Makes Rio Ferdinand look like a pub player.

Ayala is not the right style of player to play under Bielsa and nowhere near good enough. That cannot be said enough.

Gibson might be slightly better but I'm undecided. The first and best option is to do whatever it takes to get White for next season. If we go up and he wants to come here £35 million is a snap for a player of that quality and age. Unless he is a one season wonder he will not lose value.

Not having this El - Even though the ball was beyond the Portuguese star, he was able to take a touch, turn, swivel and shoot as he guided the ball past the helpless Woodman.
