I wonder if the relier I feel from today's win, is equally felt as stress for those below us. Can but hope!
indeed , it will be , id imagine villa and the muff fans are resigned to their fate now . Would like to see Brentford come up somehow , bit like us in many ways .
I'd like to go on a Keegan type rant about how I'd love Muff and Villa (can't stand Sleaselish) to go down, but think I'll wait to the fat lady is in full voice - just in case. Big two wins for us mind, as against Burnley and Southampton we looked dire. Let's hope they both get thrashed tomorrow or it could be back on relegation heat wise.
not really , they are six and seven points behind with inferior goal differences , so need two wins at least plus big scores , it’s not going to happen in the games they’ve got , norwich have played them all !
Goal difference? we still have to play City... average score for past two games against them 0-7 . Tomorrow is huge, Villa have a good chance against Palarce, Zaha hates us so probably will not turn up. Boremouth have Leicester, with Chelski losing at Sheffield Untd at the moment, lets hope that motivates Leicester. A win each for Villa and Mouth and its all to play for once again.
home games against citeh are much closer usually , aside that , they would need seven points in villas case , really can’t see that , they don’t have the players , or the fixtures . West ham away , could be interest now .
it would be really helpful if West Ham were still mathematically capable of being relegated when they play Villa last match.
If we beat them we will go above them and their next game after that is Man U so much like us playing MC.
Today Man City secured 2nd place. Will that slow them down against us? One can only hope. Think we need 1 more point, maybe 2 to be certain.
doubt it will affect them really , let’s concentrate on the next game , that is one that something can be got , more realistic than the citeh game .
I was suspicious about the prospect of Wet spam/villa each needing a draw on last day to stay up . Now I realise that if 'Muff lose twice and Villa get 1 point this week (2 games ch) then wet spam & us need a point each to relegate muff & Villa on Friday. would either of us try too hard ?
Hope Everton are a bit more motivated against Villa and Bournemouth than they have been in recent games.
I think West ham will come out all guns blazing against us. They will fancy their chances against our defence and will know full well that our attack is largely impotent. When the fixtures were published last summer, I always thought we had to be safe before the last two games of the season. Nothing has changed in the twelve months since. If we can lock out our defence, we can probably think of ourselves safe. Heavy defeats in the last three games, could well see us relegated.
The key is today - if Villa and Bournemouth lose they then both need to win at least 2 of their last 3 games. Bournemouth have 2 away games including Man City and home to Southampton who are very good themselves on the road. Villa would need 2 wins and a draw from Arsenal/Everton and West Ham. That is before GD comes into it but I agree be silly to play for a draw at West Ham - we all know how that would end up! We'd be better going to win as 3 points would put us above them and they have Man U away after that.
Apparently 36 points are on average enough to stay up, with just a couple of exceptions in the past 10 years.
Palace goal ruled out for one of those slight handballs from an attacker. Fair enough - they seem to be almost too consistent on that. Except when it's against us!
