I know; right now though I'm afraid apart from the match against Brighton we are making ourselves look ordinary. It's not a cool look. Just pray we break the trend by next season.
Ive said it before and ill say it again, whether intentional or unconscious there will be a drop of in intensity as soon as the league was won. We have been firing on all cylinders for nearly 2 years straight. I'm more amazed that people are surprised that they've slowed down.
Keep your knickers on! Have a look at my signature! You all know me of old. Yes, I'm a bit miffed our form has dropped off. I personally can't see any need or reason for it, but I'm not happy unless I'm grumbling!
Didn't we struggle at home against Burnley last season though? Same thing, many chances not put away, and found it real hard to defend set pieces against big lads and really good delivery. Age-old story - no complaints, except for Mo and others trying to walk the ball over the line, and an outstanding performance from a superb goalkeeper. Even the pen - yes it was, but it wasn't a clear an obvious error, just like Trent against City earlier in the season. Well played Burnley - it should have been over by half time, but you dig in, ride your luck and you get what you deserve. More annoyed with dire performances against City and Everton, tbh. Now they showed a drop and a half in intensity.
