It’s politicians are probably the most corrupt in Europe, and have been for decades. Fingers in the pie all over the ****ing place.

I actually have a theory on that, it ties into the conversation on Race, would you like to hear it?

If you have a theory on race, politics, corruption, and Irishness, this is almost certainly the place to air it <ok>

Generational dislike/distrust of authority. A lot of the time it is justified. My da hated the cops and Government, they locked him up. I hated the RUC, a lot of that would have come from my father. My son has a blase distrust for authority, probably cos of me and his Granda even though the PSNI are generally sound.

I believe there is also a generational distrust of the Law in America for similar reasons. Not comparing btw.

Ireland and our population spent the thick end of a millennium under British rule (I still do), therefore there is an ingrained distrust of Government still in the south among many including politicians.

You can't be insidious for centuries and expect that to change overnight. I think there is a similar thing going on with Black British folk.

That probably sounds like ****e but in my head I know what I mean.

    Interesting.

But it doesn’t explain why England has reverted to the mindset of 18th century forelock tugging serfs, bending over for the same aristocracy that’s been taking the piss for centuries.

Not your problem I suppose. But it’s hard to hold out much hope for a nation that actively delights in being lorded over by a bunch of toffs.

I don’t even dislike the Royal Family btw, but what chance for a nation that will willingly keep a family of Kraut interlopers in clover, while applauding a government that reduces huge sectors of the working class to beggary?

It's a bit rich slagging other countries about corruption when you live in the most corrupt country in the world tbh.

Somebody that thinks posting a meme is a measure of intelligence, of any kind, is rather dim... now throw yourself back in and try to avoid a belly flop <cheers>

I live in the same cou as you, currently

It’s far from being the most corrupt country in the world. Best not look to closely at the funny money sloshing about in the City of London, but that’s another matter.

The political talk on this thread by the Anglos has been through memes most of the time.
