I'm a way off yet, but obviously always reviewing options in life and that sounds a sensible suggestion to me.

One of the things that pissed me off, was the extra years chucked on the pension age, because you have to rework your finances. Imagining being a woman with an extra 6,7,8 years whatever it is on top....

Which gets me to thinking, rather than paying 3 million people benefits to sit at home, they could always retire ppl off, and give the youngsters the jobs. Ok I'll dispense with these stooopid ideas

Exactly mate. Like you say, I know pensions will cost more, but the long term would be of far greater benefit to the younger generation. Once you stick 3 million people in unemployed, it's a downward spiral. I think it's better to pay pension, than state benefits and the poverty trap.
