Thanks for that, I remember a story from a spanish journalist, julio maldonado. This guy recorded every game on video, and I mean every game from every league in the world. When Bielsa went to Bilbao he went to visit him to get copies of every la liga game he had. Bielsas attention to detail is second to none, almost verging on obsession, but it works as we have seen. Just wish he could sort out corners. (Jokeish)
Even if this all goes tits up it has been a joy to watch Bielsa style football. It's been a great ride regardless of what happens. The guy is a genius. I said to a work colleague the other day that even if I wasn't a Leeds fan it would be so exciting to see Bielsa's Leeds team in the premier league. I'm intrigued to see what happens. I have a feeling that he won't sign many players and will largely go with what he has if we went up. Just another point on the guy. The legacy he will leave behind will be felt for years. The man has only been here 2 seasons and I'd happily see a statue up at ER
As some of you are aware, I spent a good while overseas, in that time I met and became friends with an Argentinian guy, who texted me when Bielsa joined Leeds (and let’s be fair non of us new nothing of him) and stated we had signed best manager/coach in the world. Thursday night he was texting me about our performance from Argentina?? Yes we were on live out there on ESPN and he told me we have a fan base there that is growing!!!
I remember really enjoying his Chile team at the time but hadn't remembered his name until he came to Leeds.
The documentary is excellent, I watched it on Sky Go yesterday. Marcelo is a class act, an honourable and gracious man and I’m proud to have him associated with Leeds. As Emu says, irrespective of how things pan out it’s been a joy to watch the brand of football he’s got us playing.
Funnily enough, had the villa loving son in law over this eve for a bar b q. I tried my best not to gloat but conversation eventually move on to Bielsa. Son in law hates Leeds but watched the documentary and admitted any club in Europe would be thrilled to have him
Now that the job is done I watched last night. You have to be some manager if Pep and Pochettino are happy to come on and speak about you like that.
I’ve a feeling I’ll watch it a few more times over the summer. I’ll even be able to watch last three episodes of bring it home from last season maybe
That series had such an unbelievable ending I don't think it's worth watching really. Besides I hear that some of the bit part characters towards the end were real tossers.
