Good Morning. It's Thursday 9th July, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road.

    Pressure firmly on Leeds

The pressure is firmly on Leeds to pull three points out of the bag against the Potters this (early) evening. We have seen West Brom, Brentford and Fulham all pile the pressure on the Whites with back to back victories, pushing Leeds into second place. In the unlikely event that Leeds lose against Stoke, they would fall outside the automatic places for the first time this season if Brentford were to overcome Derby at Pride Park on Saturday lunchtime!

The Bees are the in form team of the Championship having won six on the trot, and only conceded once. They have three prolific scorers with 54 goals shared between the trio this season. It's difficult to see them losing!

Leeds destiny in in their own hands. If they continue to win, it doesn't matter what the competition do, they'll go up as Champions, but do the Whites have the firepower to keep winning?

Since they won promotion back to the Championship in the 10/11 season, Leeds have averaged 9.2 points over their last nine games. Even under Bielsa last season, they only managed 10.

They have already amassed seven points from the first four games since lockdown. Realistically, how many points do Leeds need for automatic promotion?

Leeds have a 94% chance of automatic Promotion

Data analysts at InfoGol have calculated that Leeds have a 94% chance of automatic promotion compared with West Brom with 71% and Brentford just 31%.

InfoGol have used complex data sets, historical results and fixture lists to work out the most likely
    conclusion.

They claim that if the rest of the season was played out 100 times, Leeds United would finish in the top two on 94 occasions.

What changes would you make to the Leeds Line up this evening?

Leeds kick off against Stoke this evening at 5pm. If you were the gaffer, what changes would you make to the starting line up?

Morning all... Next two are must wins, do you rest anyone for the weekend or do you take advantage of the extra subs and give at least 6 players in total 45 minutes each still leaving you 2 subs in case of emergency?

    Good morning.

We need to beat Stoke convincingly tonight if we're going to take any confidence forward for the remaining games. The trouble is, if you go on the expected goals table, (which sees us clear champions) then Stoke are actually up around the play offs which suggests they're better than their position but like us, struggle to convert chances.

The next couple of weeks sees the top three against playoff contenders.

Good Morning to Matt and co from a cold wet Bardsey
Derby will decide who goes up as they have to play us and Brentford I feel the pressure is on us now no doubt about it
I hope Villa are relegated but it shows promotion is not always a blessing. They have spent 140m but slip[ed up by not buying 2 strikers

Morning all. Was bitterly disappointed in Derby away to WBA. They were pathetic and didn't even look interested. There are some awful outfits in this league. Time we took it by the scruff of the neck and as Ristac said, two wins in a row and hopefully big wins too. Would silence the doubters. Some good news this morning, my favourite nephew and his wife , living in Australia, had their first baby, a son so this feels like its gonna be a real good day

    Morning troops.

A win tonight, by any margin, strolling or scrappy, and it deflates the chasers and leaves us no worse off than Sunday and a game closer to home.

    Come on you Leeds! <cheers>

    Good morning all
Yep as your all saying, the next two games are massively important, would i change any of the starting line up ? certainly not as this is the side which have got us in this great position, Am i worried by this game today, you bet, we always struggle in the games we should win as the Luton match proved yet again. As for Direby last night they probably played like that on purpose, just to spite us the cnuts (you can bet your hat they won't put in a performance against us like that).
Wins are all important now, goal difference has us behind major challengers,so were gonna have to do it on points,so buckle up everyone were in for a bumpy ride as always, but we wouldn't change our favourite club for all the Liverpool's/Man City's in the world.
C'mon Leeds we can do it.

If we can't get up this year we never will with this squad. It would prove that the current crop can't handle the pressure.

I'm still super confident. We battered Stoke at their place. I'm still wondering how Swansea beat us at ER early this season. They were playing out of their skin at that time but I think they only had one attack and scored it. Derby scraped a draw at ER after another completely dominant display by Leeds. Charlton were good for their win against us to be fair and Barnsley don't even have Wilks anymore who was the only danger.

We have proven we are a better team than all those we have yet to play. It's just about holding your nerve in front of goal and putting chances away. If we do that then we win all of our games. We won't be outplayed by anyone.

Just hope that idiot up front gets a grip and goes on a run of goals for once.

Derby appear to be "gone". They were poxed to get a point against their biggest rivals Notts Forest and they couldn't even bring it for the huge game last night. Brentford will steam roller them on Saturday and by the time we play them they'll have nothing to play for. Whether that's a good thing or not is anyone's guess.
Bielsa will pick the right team tonight, it just needs a little bit of luck and we should be picking up 3 points.

I feel Leeds are at a disadvantage when it comes to substitutions. Bielsa rarely uses them until very late.

Home game, one of 5 games remaining, 10 points to get from 15 and so all games are important. I will be gutted if we don't win this but it isn't a "must win". It's more a we will win and move onto the next game.

    My thoughts:

I was at the charlton game - no way did they deserve their win. They scored with their only chance from a kiko special and although we were off song we still had plenty enough chances to win the game. They are along with Luton probably the worst team in the division in my opinion but had some outrageous luck to get them points early in the season

Stoke are better their league position by some distance but, they're leaky and they try to play football which should suit us.

Barnsley are fighting for lives but have been hit and miss performance wise all season. They are capable of being a handfull - they outplayed west brom twice this season

Derby are a tough nut to crack at home

Swansea's home form has been average all season

If we win tonight I'm breaking out a bottle of the decent stuff...

and then for every victory until our fate is sealed one way or another.

Hopefully I can pop the cork at HT and let it breathe a little whilst we run Stoke ragged :emoticon-0142-happy

What would you recommend for one who normally doesn't drink the stuff and wouldn't have your financial resources. In other words, I want something on the cheap side

M'mm crikey that's a tough one as it's all so much down to personal taste.

However as you're a top bloke I shall give it a go...

Try a bottle of Saint-Emilion Grand Cru from Lidl, 2016 vintage if you can get it, if not the 2017....both £10.99 a bottle.

I've just prepped a Chateau Angelus 1995, which also happens to be a St Emilion but is a Premier Grand Cru Class...so we had better bloody win or the cork stays in !!!

    Afternoon all,

Another win incoming tonight. I'm rising above all the negativity. Yes wba and Brentford are going strong but our stats are pretty good.
Pundits and other fans rate us and our chances. It is only ourselves that doubt us.

Seeing a little abuse for Bamford. He has scored 3 goals in 5 games.
He has scored as many goals as Roofe did last season with 5 games to go.

I agree with the amount of chances he has he should have more goals but rather than concentrate on that let's look at the positives.

Found out what was preventing our Academy getting Category A status. Apparently there was one coaching method that we refused to put on our curriculum, but we've given in & included it now ........
