Palmer doesn't get picked, Kalas is half the player he was last season, Tomlin's gone, possibly to the Prem, and sorry DaSilva isn't pulling up trees.
As for Dionny, Kent, Engvall ant the other 60plus signings......

    Squandered.

And let's see who the clappers choices are.
Chief 1For won't get off his 'very high fence' but what about the rest of you.

Why Palmer hasn’t played - particularly with Afobe returning - is a mystery to me - and I believe a mistake, but because of ‘falling out’? It’s possible of course, but is it not also possible that Palmer just simply didn’t fit into LJs game plan recently?
Not everyone who doesn’t play has fallen out with the manager. There’s only room for 11 on the pitch at once which means that quite a few of the total squad will not feature. If Palmer played and, say Smith didn’t, would that automatically mean that Smith had fallen out with LJ?
Every time Maenpaa played, is it because LJ had had a bust-up with Bentley?
    I suspect not.
I suspect that Palmer not playing was simply down to (strange) team selection rather than personal fall-out.
I also read recently that Palmer has been carrying an injury.
Kent was crap, so to be honest I don’t care if he fell out with LJ. In fact good for LJ for dropping him, but again it’s more likely that he wasn’t selected because he was crap!
Benkovich and Henricksen - didn’t one or both of those have a history of ‘falling out’ with their manager? If so then out of all the names mentioned these are most likely to have actually fallen out with LJ. Even so, I’ve not read it anywhere other than chat rooms, so whilst it MIGHT be true it equally might not. Perhaps they were simply superfluous to requirements? Not every loan comes to an end due to a fight.

Tomlin has been publicised that he was suffering with mental depression. It took Warnock‘s assistant to spot this and then they arranged him to visit a councillor. Look at Tomlin now he is like a changed man in his well-being and also physical shape.
Palmer to me, is good going forward but a liability in defending. When he was good, he was not just because of feeding through to Afobe, he did brighten up a boring game. He had Nagy who was good for those few games before injury and Messengo was on form. Once they dipped Palmers defensive duties became more apparent, and was terrible. Good when someone else can defend him, but not when expected to chip in defence duty.
Benkovic is a mystery to me and feel he should of been given more time or we should of kept Taylor Moore.
Henrickson on paper looked a good deal, but LJ did imo **** that one up.
Kent didn’t want to be here, and if he was would still be running down the wing past KFC or Ashton Park. Seems happy with Gerard and good luck to him.
Diony nothing you can say apart from laugh.

IMO, all the names so far that's been floating are either managers that have been around the block so many times.....(and they've been sacked for a reason) or there are mangers that have tried their luck in the lower leagues and done ok......All look very drab to me and IMO not really better than what we had.
I think it was ROD that mentioned, maybe be we look overseas, a coach with a fresh mind......Norwich, Wolves & Huddersfield had a bit of success going down that route..

'The club has a great future' - Lee Johnson's first words since his sacking at Bristol City
The former Robins head coach has released a statement to the League Managers Association
Lee Johnson has paid tribute to the Lansdown family, CEO Mark Ashton, his players and the fans of Bristol City in a statement released to the League Managers Association.

Johnson ended his four-and-a-half years in charge of City on Saturday as he was "relieved of his role" within 90 minutes of the Robins 1-0 defeat to Cardiff City.
The 39-year-old has maintained a dignified silence since with the club now actively pursuing his replacement and on the eve of City's Championship game with Hull City, Johnson delivered a lengthy and thorough statement.

Johnson was brought to the club by Steve Lansdown and Ashton in February 2016 and after maintaining their Championship status, improved their league position each season and reached the semi-finals of the League Cup in 2017/18.

However, his patient progress also proved his underdoing as the next step for City was to reach the play-offs this season, something which appears to have eluded them after a run of nine matches without a win.
You can read the full statement below:

"I am deeply saddened by my departure as Head Coach of Bristol City FC. I have spent the last four-and-a-half years ’all in’. I consumed myself with all sections of the club and loved every minute of it!" Johnson writes.

"I would like to thank Steve and Maggie Lansdown, as well as the Lansdown family, for giving me the opportunity to manage such a great club, realising a personal ambition of mine.

"Thank you also to the Board of Directors for their strong support throughout.

"A special mention to Mark Ashton who I have enjoyed an excellent day-to-day relationship with, both as a friend and a colleague.

"At Bristol City I have worked with a fantastic staff and shared so many great times in my tenure. I am extremely proud of the work done. I will never forget the scenes of a packed Ashton Gate and the fans waving their metallic style red and silver flags in the semi-final of the Carabao Cup versus Manchester City.

"As a collective I thank all staff, past and present, for their efforts and commitment to the cause.

"Thank you to the players for their attitude and application in training. The culture and learning environment we have created has allowed us to trade, nurture and compete. The club has a great future with many young talented players on the books.

"On a personal level, it has been an honour to manage Bristol City Football Club and now is the time to move on to a new challenge. I am excited for my next adventure, when the opportunity arises and the timing is right.

"Finally, a thank-you to the fans. During nearly 10 years at the club, over two spells, I have met many wonderful Bristol City supporters and have always had brilliant interactions with the passionate people in and around the city. Thank you for the way you have treated me and my family.

"I wish the club, my successor and everyone connected with Bristol City every success in the future!

Well Rp don't class myself as a clapper but if i had a choice it would be Aitor Karanka, saying that, if he doesn't get his own way he might do a Steve Coppell.

Cheers AD for your verdict of our next manager.
    Mine's Chris Hughton.

1For is still going round the houses.
R&W, Loaths, Supcon are still keeping their heads down.

    Don't be shy guys.

Mark Ashton just said they’ve not spoken to anyone so far.

My first choice would Jokanović, but feel he may have been priced out with having a role in Qatar. Hopefully he’s got a clause in his contract allowing him to leave for a UK club.

I suppose I fit into the role of ‘clapper’ since I haven’t hurled abuse towards LJ from day 1.........
I can honestly say that none of the names being mooted in the press float my boat.
Probably as divisive a character as LJ, but I would have had Warnock - but Boro got him just in time so we have been spared endless ‘Colin debates’!
Of the names seemingly in the running I would probably go for Hughton first choice, McCarthy second. NOT for their brand of football (or Warnock for that matter) - just for their proven record of getting clubs promoted from the Championship.
If we really are serious about getting to the Prem I really believe that we need a proven manager to get us there. Of course, an unproven manager may do too, but a proven manager is more likely to attract players with serious ambition to take us there rather than use us as a springboard to bigger and better careers.
Once we’ve popped our cherry and tasted the Prem, with it’s parachute money, we SHOULD find it easier to get there again.

Very underwhelmed by all the options really. From the named runners it would be Hughton by a mile. I'm hoping we get a left-field appointment from Europe, as Deby did with Cocu, it has to be worth a go vs all the usual dross on the list.
