It's all gone very quiet on here, particularly given the excellent performances that the team are putting in. Bournemouth put on a decent display at intervals during the game and De Gea seems to have lost his form completely - how many goals is he going to concede through simple errors, I never thought I'd hear myself say that. Thankfully we are scoring for fun at the other end and in many respects our style of play is reminiscent of the good old Fergie days - who cares how many we concede because we will always score more than the opposition.

We seem to have hit the ground running after the season restart and things are looking extremely positive for us to mount a strong challenge for a CL place, regardless of the outcome of City's ban appeal. Fernandes has transformed the side and even Martial seems to be enjoying his football, as does Pogba - there's a surprise.

Pains me to say it but in Fernandes you appear to have struck gold . Your team looks so much better with him in it which appears partly because he is personally so good but also partly because he also seems to both inspire and direct some of your other players .

He seems to be having a laugh while he's at it as well.
Not serious or precious, he's having the crack and getting on with it, the younger players love that.

That's true but the game against Norwich showed it's also about the team selection around Fernandes. Picking players without pace or movement up front against an organised defence and even Fernandes can't work miracles.

Every game we've blown teams away in, it's needed the likes of Rashford, Greenwood, Martial and Pogba to make the most of Fernandes talent on the ball. He is wasted on the likes of Lingard, Perreira and I'm sad to say Mata and James.

It seems that Mata wants away at the end of this season. He has been an excellent player and I wish him well. Lingard, Pereira and James have no place in the first team and will stay on the basis of being cup/squad players at best.

I still have hopes for James. It's his first season and I've always taken that into account with any new signing. With the exception of Djemba Djemba and Kleberson....oh and Bebe, but you get my general drift.

I can see why Ole bought him, perhaps he fitted with the new, dynamic style of play that he wanted, but now he hasn't the talent to take the place of anyone in the midfield or our attack. Perhaps a season or two out on loan might do something ........................ Who would we drop from the current first team in order to play James?

James is great for counter attack because of his speed but is better from the left, the problems with that are.......... we mostly control games now, Rashford and Martial are better than him on the left, Martial and Rashford have developed a great understanding in the last 10 games, Greenwood needs to play because he is an out and out goal scorer anywhere across the front.
We need a real right winger, as most of our attacks depend on Shaw linking up with Rashford/Martial.
Bissaka is a brilliant full back but has a long way to go attacking wise.
Where do we fit a right winger in right now given that we need one?

He's a sub surely? Why loan him out, what's the point.

He may not be nailed on first eleven but he certainly is nailed on first 15, it's the likes of Lingard and Perreira we'd have sat on the subs bench if we loan out players like James.

If we buy a right winger I guess he'd play right wing, right?

I don't think Greenwood can yet be deemed a guaranteed starter, he's eighteen. There was a time we used to have four strikers who could all be deemed worthy of being in the starting line up, there's no reason why we can't have top class options on the bench.
