1-0 FT. Great result. Awful match. We were mediocre and Everton were poor. Two big managers, two big clubs, plenty of big names and virtually no action. I'd have taken the scoreline at the start, but that's not entertaining at all, is it?
Great game , I managed to finish 4 reports without being bothered by the football , how many games to go ?
Not the best of games but I felt we were good for the win. Winks and Lo Celso the standouts for me, not that it’s a major compliment considering how the game went. Think Jose should’ve utilised subs a lot earlier though baring in mind the fixtures we have coming up. Though I’m half expecting a fairly rotated side against Bournemouth in order to be as fresh as can be for those mugs on Sunday.
To-day is a good day. At 11 am, after 15 weeks I had my hair done! Boy, did it need a cut! Great joy And now, despite being pretty awful my team have scraped 3 points, more joy. I don't at this stage care how they get the points, own goals, flukes whatever, just getting them brings joy. So to-day is a good day Cheers all...
At least we had Lo Celso's ****ehousery masterclass to provide something approaching entertainment...
Reporter: “When Lloris has a go at Son at half time, what did you make of it?” Jose: “That’s beautiful!” He’s right though too, you need to see that passion and anger at times.
"It's beautiful. It's probably as a consequence of our meetings. If you want to blame someone for that it's me. I was critical of my boys - they were not critical enough with themselves. I asked them to be more demanding of each other. "Son is an amazing kid, everybody likes Son but the captain told him you have to do more and give more to the team. "It's something needed for the team to grow up - to grow up you need big personalities. When you have that reaction I had no doubts." It's the only way to change that mentality. It was what I thought it was. A misplaced pass didn't reach Son and he flounced a bit and didn't track back. That let Mina move the ball way up the pitch and give it to Richarlison, who Dier failed to close down. Lloris was right to be angry. That's not good enough.
I think I have noticed that the Loris who came back after the lockdown is more assertive seems to command his area better (I have always thought he was not strong enough in that area) Now he has made that strong statement when team mates failed to deliver what is expected. We have a captain at last.
