This is incredibly sad news. I’d say Norwich have ever so slightly had the upper hand during the era that I’ve known him through the forums and it’s a great comfort to know he will have enjoyed the East Anglian exchanges of the last 15 years or so much more than I have and the last 50 years of (relative) success that City have enjoyed on the pitch. We will really miss his warmth and wit. Love from all the ITFC 606ers, past and active.
Very sorry to hear this sad news,if anyone is in touch with his family please pass on my condolences. His contribution on our forum was always welcome....a true gent.R.I.P. Dave
Will miss our middle of the night exchanges. We used to ‘like’ each other’s good morning posts to let the other know we were round and about. Lovely fella. Glad the pain has ended for you, pal. RIP Dave.
I feared it was coming, but it´s still a shock A good friend has hung up his boots, If you ever needed one, he was a rock And always was true to his roots And although I´m now giving these boards a miss It was here we came out to play, Year after year, whether in pain or bliss He´d look forward to a new day As Canary fan, he was one of the few I knew, who set store by the past, He´d shy away from all talk of the new And for that his name will ever last. RIP Dave
OMG - I knew that he was in the hospital after he posted a picture on FB but I did not realise things were as bad at that. So sad
One of the worlds NICE people, and my friend. It’s always sad when someone like Dave passes, but he leaves behind very many happy memories. He will be missed. This ones for you.
OMG Poor Dave this is terrible news we often disagreed on here, Facebook and Twitter especially with regard to the Stowmarket Two but it was always soon forgotten. As many have said a real gent who always saw the good in everyone he will be truly missed by all. RIP Fella #OTBC
The fact that there are tributes to Dave on here, from supporters of many clubs, says it all. RIP Dave.
RIP Dave, condolences to his family and friends. Loved the back and fourth on the thread association game, trying to outdo each other's tenuous links, for me it was during the day, for him it was sometimes the middle of the night. Many a laugh was had
A story that is typical Dave and made me smile. One of Dave's last wishes was that all his possessions should go to his cleaner/carer, keep what she wanted and sell the rest, this has been done. Dave visited his Sunderland friends every year and when we played Norwich would sit with me. If and when Norwich scored Dave would show no emotion, he would just dig me in the ribs and I would turn to see that big smile, I will miss that smile.
Just have a few words upstairs will you please Dave we need as much help s possible and an automatic promotion next season followed by a longer stay in the prem next time Gone but not forgotten, at least he did not have to suffer our recent results and performances, hope his family & friends can find strength & peace at this time.
Very sad news , we exchanged pms recently and I knew he was very unwell but hoped he would keep soldiering on . He will be sorely missed .
