looks like the club won't be pursuing Willems and are going after Rose ... both would be ideal tbh Willems I had taken too...
Jetro: suspect defensively, excellent offennsively. Danny Rose: excellent defensively, weaker offensively. If fit and in form, both are good acquisitions as they have different strengths. If St.Max is playing left wing, Danny Rose is clearly the better choice. Conclusion: if Danny is up to the challenge and Jetro's recovery is complete, both players should be signed at the right price.
Not sure we should stick to anything - unless it's the floor of The Beehive, in which case we have no choice in the matter. Horses for courses, I say.
It all depends on the manager and their style of play. If it's 5 at the back then Jetro is your man If it's 4 at the back then Rose is your man
personally I prefer Willem's. Both upgrades but Willem's is four years younger and I just prefer his attitude ( he seems happy to be here whereas Rose confess across to me as I'd he's doing is a favor). That said, maybe behind the scenes Rose is fine. Both are solid mid table players.
Regardless of formation I'd rather have Willems for a number of reasons. I think if both were at their best, while Willems is technically far better, Rose is the better defender overall. At their respective peaks I'd say Rose was better. But Danny Rose peaked about 3 seasons ago. His heart isn't in the game and it shows. His conditioning has been poor in his time here, and he has looked sloppy. I wouldn't want him to be honest. Whereas Willems loves the game, seemed to loved the club and give it everything. He does go to sleep and play lazy passes, but I'd want him back. If he was one of my two left backs I'd be happy. Some of things he can do with the ball is very entertaining too, typical dutchman, very high technical level. He is a very good fit for a takeover in terms of transitioning to a better side. If we are taken over I'd like us to have a look at Guerreiro from Dortmund to see if that is possible. Quality player.
