So if were promoted we have to fork out 8m to pl to help bail them out, 15m for costa, 20 m for big Kev and it was mentioned last season that bonus promotion payments to staff and players was around 20m I think. At this rate well be as broke as last time under Risdale. We might be better off staying where we are <yikes><doh>

Decided to have a look where we stood last season after 40 matches.

    Position 3rd.
8 points behind Norwich and -10 GD
1 point behind Sheff Utd and - 6 GD

And this season after 40 matches.

    Position 1st.
1 point ahead of WBA and -2 GD
6 points ahead of Brentford and - 10 GD

That's made me feel a bit better if nothing else :emoticon-0142-happy

In regards to White, I don’t think Orta found him, I think he was offered to us two seasons ago and we refused, he was offered again for this season

We will owe Coopers old club a bonus too (I’m sure I read that the other day) and you can bet Wolves for Douglas has the same condition

we were offered saiz and klich under monk and jansson was already here on loan with an agreement to make perm - though doc liked to give orta credit it!

Speaking of which, hope doc decides to pop back on.

Watching the Hull v Boro game and the standard of refereeing as usual leaves much to be desired.

Clear foul without attempting to play the ball results in a penalty for Boro...100% correct but then no red card for the clear goalscoring opportunity denied. If it had been Leeds (Beradi for example) the red would have been out for sure.

It should have been game over for Hull but still 11 v 11 and then they equalise and now it's game on.

Maybe, maybe not, but someone took the decision this season and he had big shoes to fill after the sale of Janson. Pretty sure Orta will be offered 100's players from all over the world so getting those decisions right is the hard part.

What I do have an issue with, is decisions to give new long term deals, with large pay increases. Presumably that's a major part of Orta's role and he would justify himself by stating that he's securing valuable assets who now have a solid value in the transfer market. The problem is though, as elland stated earlier, that if the value of the contract is too high it can have the opposite effect and make a player disinclined to leave as well as pricing a buying club out of the market when they add up transfer fee + wages.

My feeling is we're now overpaying many of our senior professionals, I guess to know if that's true we'd have to compare the contracts of other championship players of a similar age and experience.

    You're almost certainly right.

However, think of the calamities we've had over the years by not securing long deals. Think how many have had us over a barrel in their last year - which will no doubt upset harmony in the team. I think this might just have been a (very expensive) way of maintaining harmony - as was selling Pontus cheap. I get it if this is the case. If that wasn't the intention, then I join the throng asking 'why?'.

How the hell have WBA and Brentford ended up with 4 of their last 6 games at home ???

    Anyway next 2 for Brentford seems like a guaranteed 6 points...Wigan (h) & Charlton (h).

Expect WBA to comfortably beat Hull (h) but then they have to face in form Derby (h).

I saw this earlier and wondered myself how it could happen. Surely at this stage all teams should have three away and home. Once again its a conspiracy theory in the making.

I'm kinda hoping that Wigan really up their game, given the shock of effectively now propping up the league.

After the Blackburn game our next two Stoke and Swansea are being shown live on Sky. It means another Sunday trip to Wales.

Laurens De Bock met with top-tier Belgian side Zulte Waregem on Wednesday ahead of completing a move from Leeds United this summer. I’d forgot we even have him

We'll lose to Blackburn. Injuries and a lack of goals will mean we'll slip into the playoffs. We'll lose those and remain in the Championship. Bielsa and his team will move on. Financially we will struggle, particularly with the commitments to pay transfer fees for players who failed us. Rads media empire will go bust. He will be forced to sell to a Yorkshire consortium made up of a local newsagent, tyre fitter and plumber with two bob to their name.

Sky and the EFL will give us £500k to show 15 of our games at 9am Monday mornings, particularly those over 100 miles away for fans. Once scandinavian and Irish fans have booked hotels and plane flights, sky will move these fixtures from Saturday to Friday.

We will have three managers in the first 6 months of the season. A manager from a non-league outfit in Spain will take over. We will sign Serie Z players from Albania. The fan base will dwindle and we will be forced to bring out the crowdies from storage.

Adidas will pull out of the shirt deal and Macron will step into the breach, providing a reserve kit from a Moldovan 3rd tier college side in brown, gold, purple and red. We will be sponsored by Micky T's Koi Carp Emporium.

Emma will leave LUTV and sign a multimillion pound contract with Scumchester TV.

I'd heard we would actually slip into administration on the last day of the season and be docked 40 points and as a result we would be relegated to League 1
