Good Morning. It's Thursday 2nd July, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

    Auf Wiedersehen Kev

So long, farewell, Auf Wiedersehen..... Goodbye!!! Jean-Kevin Augustin has left the building- in fact, he's left the Country. Leeds have decided not to extend his loan period. The same loan period that cost the Whites 3.5m in full wages and loan fee to bring him to Elland Road to play 48 minutes of football, back in January.

What's more - Leeds have an obligation to sign him permanently for a further 18m if they get promoted, though former Chief Football Writer for the YEP Phil Hay believes Leeds will try to wriggle out of the deal.

Why on earth would Leeds not have clauses inserted regarding fitness or injury?

Have we gone back to the Ridsdale dynasty?

LUFC Spokesman - don't blame the floodlights

Leeds United are not concerned by their floodlights at Elland Road despite Bamford and Costa telling team-mates they missed chances against Luton after being blinded by the glare of the Elland Road floodlights from the West Stand

There are plans for an upgrade the floodlights to meet Premier League requirements should they win promotion. The new floodlights will be 44 metres high and will tower above the West Stand, no doubt removing the chance of any glare.

Bielsa labelled the misses 'strange' after Bamford completely lost sight of the ball and Costa miscued a header from close range.

A spokesman said the two incidents were coincidental and no player had complained of it being an issue before. The lights meet EFL requirements and are in full working order.

Apparently, Bamford's miss had nothing whatsoever to do with him being a donkey!!!!

Do Leeds need to change Blackburn starting line up?

Over the last three games, Leeds have had 67 shots at goal, 17 of which were on target and have scored 4.

Our opposition have amassed 29 efforts, with 9 on target, scoring 3. It's a similar slightly worse statistic if you compare the entire season.

Do Leeds need to shaken things up in the line up?

    What would you do?

    Morning all...

Rads must be furious with how much money has been wasted on two loan striker signings, we’ve wasted more than we received for Roofe. Rads needs to seriously look at who is to blame and going forward he needs to rectify it.

Did Bielsa sanction them, did Bielsa realise how unfit Augustin was, did our medics fail to report his condition, same with Nketiah?

Dallas is out (so I read) so I’m assuming a start for Alioski who I hate seeing at LB, surely Pablo needs to start? Bamford has an excuse for one glaring miss, can he explain the other 50

    Morning all.

I think there will be a couple of changes for Blackburn, one forced.

Dallas is dry to be injured. Either Douglas or Alioski in there.

Probably not gonna happen but I've got a feeling Bamford may not start and Roberts will go up front with Pablo starting.

A word on Wigan going into administration. One month ago the football league passed the new owners of the club as fit and proper. Now they want to give them a 12 point penalty.
Do the football league need to share some culpability in the mess?

Morning all. Our transfer activity under Orta has been shambolic. Been saying it for ages. No point in repeating it. Oops I just did. Blaming floodlights? <doh> As for run in, we have to assume WBA and Brentford will win their remaining matches, they may or may not win them all but that tells us we'll need 88 points to ensure promotion. Wed better hope it doesn't happen as its hard to see us managing that total.

    Good morning,

I like the look of the old fashioned floodlights. One of the best things about going to a new away ground is seeing the floodlights in the distance for the first time. Something that's becoming ever more rare.

Amazing that we paid 3.5 million for 48 minutes of football and not a single goal. A few years ago 3.5 mil would've bought you a top championship striker.

Short of Hernandez starting I'm not sure what else we can do with the line up. I know some people want to see Roberts up front instead of Bamford or maybe a start for one of the youngsters but none of these are proven to be good alternatives, they're just speculation.

When players start blaming the floodlights for missing goals you know we are heading for a almighty cockup.
Heading the list of cockup mysters is mr Victor Orta. Ok he is given credit for getting Marcelo but that’s about it.
Miss out on autos and we are not going anywhere.
Non of our remaining 6 games can be counted as easy as Luton have proved.
We don’t do playoffs, we don’t beat “easy” teams as history has proved so to put it into layman’s terms it’s **** or bust time <wah><whistle>

JKA was a disaster, why did we loan someone who was injured, or unfit, or both? And the cost!
After the euphoria of beating Fulham we're back down to earth and I'm feeling nervous again. We can look at the positives (6 points clear of third place, 6 games to go) or we can worry about our inability to take our chances which has seen us drop 5 points since the restart. I agree with Eire, we have to assume that the others will keep on winning.

Sadly I think you are right. We have a history of bottling it when it counts but this is our best chance of getting it right. We don't have any options that will allow for changes in the team so we are stuck with Barndoor for now. He scored a great goal against Fulham so is capable but his return rate is piss poor. If we choke again this season I think we will be screwed for the foreseeable.

In case you weren't aware the bookies agree that we have the most difficult match this weekend.

    Leeds 4/6
    Brentford 1/2
    WBA 1/3

With both our closest rivals at home and us facing a tricky encounter at Ewood Park it's a massive weekend for the whites.

At least it's a 3pm Saturday KO so you would think travel is not an issue for this match and the floodlights will not be required.

Clutching at straws to find some positives if I'm being honest, but the fact Blackburn also need a win should help with an open match in prospect.

Bamford might need a white stick or a dog as well.

Bielsa has got the most out of players like Dallas, Cooper, Ayling etc.
Does that mean if Bielsa leaves, these players return to average?
All three have been awarded new multi million pound contracts this term for the next four or 5 years.
Why weren't the players told to wait until the end of the season to determine our spending?
If we are stuck in the Championship, and these players return to average, there is no way another club will take them on with the wage structure they already have...

Transfers have by and large been poor and Orta has to take the blame for that. Is there one player that has been bought during his tenure that has truly shone ?
I'm not as downbeat, I think we will do OK and better against those teams that are going to play against us. Whatever Luton's position was they were in good form and whilst we should have put them to the sword their recent record suggests that they'd be tougher than many of the rest at the foot of the table.
Don't like the guy but you have to ask the question where would we have been now with Mitrovic up front ?

Good Morning To Matt and co from a cold Bardsey
Lets face it Bamford should have an excuse or at least 50 misses
We must now show we deserve to get promoted
Augustin should be never allowed backand Costa as well waste of money
Very interested in Swift from Reading a very good shoe in for Pablo

You have to ask where we’d have been with Roofe up front. <ok>
