Southend was a lost cause but he still improved them. Mac lads are dead and buried but rescued them, all while the players weren’t getting paid sometimes at both clubs and nor was he. The moral at both was shot yet he improved it. He played at an international level in major tournaments. He would have a better understanding of how our players think and operate than our current incompetent in charge. Her would be more than capable of managing a club like ours. He has been around some great managers. He has learnt if them. I know people in football and he is liked and respected as a manager for the jobs he has done so far. I would be happy to replace Terry with Sol
Anybody but McCann eh? Sol C may become a good manager but he can go practice somewhere else first - he's too much of a risk.
I dont see how hes that much of a risk to us. We're as likely as not a L1 club next season. He did a good job at Macclesfield and improved a very poor side at Southend.
Nobody could have done worse than McCann since Christmas. I mean nobody. We had 39 points at the start of this year. Relegation was a non starter. 3 points later we are in deep ****. The lockdown saved him and a twat who doesn’t care where we are next year as long as the money keeps coming in. A patsy for the owner, nothing else. Can’t see anyone with real ambition taking this job until a new owner tops up.
How will the money keep coming in if we are relegated? I do agree that McCann has had a howler since our 2 best players left but the demise wasn't entirely unexpected.I had prepared myself for some tough times after they left but genuinely thought that our points total would've crept up gradually and we wouldn't be where we are now and like you I do wonder who would come here under the Allams!!
If he does a job somewhere, gets a team playing, promotion etc then he’ll be off to a better team than us, we’re **** with McCann, end of story! Anyone desperate for a job. Campbell would take it, Adkins won’t, he’s either learnt his lesson or he really doesn’t need a job.
Whilst there is a loan then repayments via interest will always be paid. Hence the money comes in. All this bollocks about them not receiving a penny is just rubbish. Everything about the ownership since the name change **** is just bollocks. Even that was bollocks. Financially out of their depth trying to claw a bit back at the expense of any ambition. Who would come here as BB said anyone desperate for a job. Bruce wasn’t that desperate, neither was Nige., Terry is.
The interest on the loan can only be paid if there’s money coming in to pay it, you can’t pull millions out of a League One club, we’ll be living off the Bowen money and that won’t last forever.
My understanding is that revenue from Championship is circa £7 million? And if we drop it sinks to circa £1.5 million? Does that sound about right?
Another hole in the Allam plan, a championship club buying lower league players putting them on show and adding value has the potential of making a few million, because you're selling them up to Premier league or rich championship clubs. Much less chance of making big money as a League 1 club, you could still buy lower league and scotish but you wont get Premier league clubs buying them from us for 5 10 or 15 million.
Not anyone, just someone decent who isn’t phased by the task facing them. I would of kept Nige but Sol is a good manager who will do well given a better opportunity than he has been so far.
Can agree with that, I think McCann is out of his depth; I also think SC will make a good manager - but not for us, not now. I'd have kept Bruce and Adkins but, they couldn't/wouldn't work with Ehabs plan for the club. We're ****ed and going one way only, no matter who the manager is.
I hear what you say but the only time they will sell this club is when no money at all comes in. I think that is not at this moment but as you say it probably is not that far away.
